I know that people tend to buy shares in their clubs more for fun than profit but a guy I spoke to in a pub (honestly!) said that clubs in Germany or at least some clubs, or club, Sold bonds to their fans to help finance building a new stadium.

It was no big money bonds either but plenty of them paying a small interest as usual every year,

Got me thinking if it was possible for us?

I suggested we could buy sections of the pitch

For instance a square foot for £50 and you get a nice certificate saying you own that piece of the playing surface

I did the maths at the time and it ran into millions and with the fans owning the pitch it could only ever be used for one purpose

Would be intresting to know how many supporters have actually put money in?

We'll find out on the 18th of this month. By the looks of it it's looking good and thats only a few people on here.

i've seen people say they have put in up to 7k and they're familys are all doing the same.

and it's still early days.

Paid my cash but according to the prospectus there's no guarantee you will get all you apply for as season ticket holders, old debenture

holders etc will be given priority.

Also think the timing is poor with only a window of a week to buy them cash ( debit card only) so soon before Christmas.

only £775,000 from fans so far which is very disappointing as it equates to less than 2% of the club. If fans took up whole £10m we would represent 20% of the club.

How do you know how much has been paid so far? What is more to the point, assuming you have the correct information, do you have permission to leak it to the public?

Just in for £500. Was going to go for more, but pc cpu decided to explode last night, so new computer needed.

On another note, Does everyone know that they had started taking money? I honestly didn't know and was waiting for a prospectus and application to come in post.

Glad I read this post.

It's been poorly advertised - I emailed a few people to get their fingers oot and they didn't know it had started

Just submitted my application. Here's hoping that a good number of Bears are able to invest.

It will take serious money to get back to the very top and to grab the ambition Charles mentioned in the 140 Years programme of his next promise to us to get Champions League action back at Ibrox again. Now I don't know how quickly we can do this but I'm absolutely convinced that it will need very good funds to keep and obtain the very best players we can and to keep Ibrox well maintained as a top class stadium.

So although it is a painful time of year to find funds I hope that as many Bears as possible can get some shares to help fund that ambition.

Great Idea ,

if an average pitch is 75 yards wide = 225 feet, by 115 yards long =345 feet that would be a total area of 77,625 square feet, at £50 per square foot that would swell the coffers by £3,881,225.

Not bad.

i did purchase my shares last night.

Selling 77,625 would be a bit of a tall order though.

Maybe bigger squares, thus less of them, would be better?

Maybe charge more for penalty spots and other prized areas?

Maybe get to choose your own grass colour (choices are blue, red or white only )

Maybe I should go to bed. Goodnight. :pipe:
