Muirheadbear 1,483
A lot has been said recently about non refund of tickets and Thompson's outbursts over the Summer but my real beef with DU goes back to season 2007/08.Let e take you back to late 2007. Firstly, the SFA requested to the SPL clubs if they would postpone a set of weekend fixtures to allow the national side the best possible preparation for a big game against Italy - remember?Secondly, Phil O'Donnell tragically died on the pitch late December and he rhats from the east requested we postpone the forthcoming New Years fixture with us. In both instances we instantly agreed. More of that Phil O'Donnell instance after.Zoom forward to the latter part of that season and largely because of Rangers' run to the UEFA cup final and there is a unprecedented backlog of fixtures to fulfill. rangers ask for an extension. One club immediately refuses, no prizes for guessing who however its agreed to extend the season by another four days. Then Rangers reach the final and are faced with playing 7 games in 17 days. They ask for a further extension. This time both the Mhanks and DU speak out. Sellik claim they hav a phantom Far East tour and united complain that Wilow Flood will have to cancel his holiday - honest! And reject another extension. So Rangers are forced to pay these games including an incredible schedule of 5 games in 10 days - two of which are cup finals and the others effectively league deciders. Then the day after the UEFA cup final Tommy Burns sadly passes away and the pillars of sporting integrity suddenly CAN find the strength to play on. Even though Tommy played ov 350 games, was their youth reserve and first team manager, they play on allowing Rangers no rest bite. Phil played 90 games for Sellick but they didn't have the strength to play the next game - funny that. And ultimately we discover that there was never a Far East tour. Two clubs had to vote against the extension and that's why a boycott for evermore at both these grounds should be implemented.Anyone else remember all this? corkinator 611
They are by far the most underhanded club ever to grace the field, they will do anything, however immoral to gain an advantage and cover up "things". The sooner that whole club is wiped from the face of the earth, along with their deranged, brainwashed, filthy, toothless, potato eating support, the better. Those with an oirish passport can offer 3 one way tickets & 5lb toties.

Everything else you can fully expect from shit like that.I honestly cannot image what kind of vile mind would not have requested the game after Burns' death to be cancelled. We know why the Holiday game was cancelled, it was becasue they had suspensions (McGeady, etc). To request a call off using O'Donnell as an excuse was an incredibly poor show even by their standards, but to ignore the death of one of their, dare I say it, Legends, was a disgrace. But what do you expect from low life like them. centenarystand 2,229
The Burns/O'Donnell issue really annoyed me as who on earth would question anything after someone has died and because of the nature of this when Burns died who could again bring this up?Ive said it before on here and it goes to prove that vile mob cannot face Rangers on an even playing field. foghorn leghorn 608
Celic are asking sphell to move goalposts in the run up toC/L ties, but believe it or not, they won't.SPL Tony Blair said. "So we would like to help but the gaps just aren't there to allow that to happen."SPL never attempted to help us back in May 2008, more like hinder our chances. That mhob were allowed to cancel their first game of the season because of a friendly in USA and was a good money-earner for them.
TravelingWilBEARy 4,319
I was living in Australia throughout all of this and don't really remember any of it (apart from the Oldfirm game being called off after O'Donnell died). If what you say is true then that is a disgraceful way to behave from both United and Sellick.
Bothwellbear 1,392
I was always shocked that they played after Tommy Burns died. It was a very sad occasion , and can only imagine how much that would be if it was one of your own. I can understand no one playing after ODonnols death as it was so tragic and sudden but it always has to be a fair playing field which it has not or will not be. If what you say is true then that is a disgraceful way to behave from both United and Sellick.Every word he says is 100% spot on. it is important that those who are not aware of this, (and I am astonished that there is anyone out there that didn't know about this), are made aware. This was the season that my contempt for them truly was cemented. The Phil O'Donnell call off, the Japanese tour and the failure to call off the game for Tommy Burns was a triumvirate of scandals that would have been roundly condemned in any other country. But not in Scotland.

Mcgeady was on fire at the point but was suspended for the game. Alan Hutton was playing like a man possessed, but we were trying to sell him (so basically two major player swing when it was played). momentum was firmly in our corner at the time. one of the few times i really felt confident going into the game.come to think of it, no, i dont remember all the stuff you posted.
