Scotsman's book reviews

The sirens started to sound at the first of several references to Rangers supporters as “the Ibrox klan”. The author makes no attempt to disguise his hatred for Rangers, stating at one stage “please let this football club die”. And yet he yearns to be taken seriously as a journalist, repeatedly complaining that no-one from the mainstream media ever calls him. As the tale unravels, - The Failed Journalist starts to disappear up his own rear, declaring: “I am aware of my own contribution and I rather like the guy I see in the shaving mirror every morning.” These are two classic mistakes: believing you are the story, and wanting a story to be true. When it’s not.

And the sun wanted to serialize that!

Tainted with a sickening sectarian brush.

But ignoring that prick the Burst Baw book looks pretty good.

Anybody got it?

Reviews of sporting books of 2012 including a few about Rangers, 'Is the baw burst - Vol. 1' looks quite good.

The last review is interesting - a slaughtering of 3 names.

Good find!

Was looking on Amazon for a couple of Rangers books my lad wants & checked out their 'reviews'

Seems the tarriers have a tactic to give a 'Gers book a rating of 1 star, trash our book, then recommend either 3 Names' effort or one by Odious Creep!

These guys are so 'on message' it's frightening!

According to the book publisher, the book only contained 'around 40%' new material. The rest being a rehash of his blog. How much is 'around' 40%? Is it 35%, 33%?

So, not just completely shite as identified by the Scotsman (and others) but also a rip-off.

Excellent news.

I tweeted co-author @alextomo to ask for his views. No reply yet.

Feel free to ask him yourselves, just in case he missed my tweet.

Well done. He'll be well aware of the review and knows fine well that he's become a laughing-stock.

I've banned myself from twitter, I just find myself sitting and abusing journalists. It's not good for my liberty.

Here's a list of some of the books that the tims that bought this also bought:

Rangers: the Official Illustrated History:

Can you fucking believe it?

I think this confirms their obsession.

And their paranoia lol Celtic Paranoia: The Laptop Loyal Diaries

Also appears a few of them bought the wrong book as well Downfall

Alan McCombes

This is comic gold lol

Wouldn't know of they actually bought the Official Illustrated History, but as I mentioned earlier, they just dis our book and add some sly reply, then direct you to some offering by one on their agenda!

Smacks of organisation to me!

Here's what Keith Jackson wrote about it:

Keith Jackson says:

A book on Rangers by an exposed discredited bigot and Rangers hater, there is more truth in Santa and the elves working overtime to deliver for Christmas than in this book of drivel it should be sponsored by a toilet paper manufacturer as that's all it's fit for.

Brilliant.
