Update: The idea has gained enough support, so we will now buy 33 raffle tickets (one for each Scottish Cup win  )

No need to vote now, but you still can if you want to. (tu)

Hi all,

Sorry for yet another sponsors thread/poll, but this one will hopefully be short and sweet…

We have not yet opened the “What Shall We Spend the Rest of the Money on” thread, but one of the options I was going to suggest was buying a small amount of Rangers Xmas Raffle tickets. (See this link for details)

However, the raffle is on Friday, so ticket sales will end on Wednesday or thereabouts. So if we decided we wanted some, we would have to be quick.

I think buying some raffle tickets is a good idea because:

  1. All the money goes to Rangers, which is what this sponsorship is all about.
  2. We can maybe generate a little excitement waiting for the draw and checking our numbers.
  3. Although we are unlikely to win anything, if we did, it would give us something else to play with in the Sponsors Thread.

We will have between £250 and £300 in the fund, and I was thinking £20 of tickets (£1 each) would be about right. You may have different thoughts on that?

So Sponsors, please quickly vote Yes or no, and add your thoughts below. I need to be sure that enough people are behind it or not, before I can justify going ahead or not.

(PS: Please don’t use this thread to discuss any other ideas – please save them for the new thread, which will be here in a few days)

PPS: Please also add a comment or thoughts to the thread because:

a: This will allow us to check that it is mainly sponsors who are voting

b: It will bump the poll back up to the top

voted yes. think it should be more than £20 tho...maybe £50.

any 'wins' (i know, unlikely) can be raffled between sponsors later on.

£20 was just a number off the top of my head.

All posters are encouraged to suggest their own amount, or agree with another suggested amount. We can then maybe work out some kind of average figure, and go with that.

Good idea again GB.

If any prizes are actually won,how about donating them to a charity close to our hearts,Erskine HOspital etc.

I'm pretty confident that when we have all finally decided what we're going to do with the money we have left (or any prizes that we acquire) that Erskine will be a popular choice to receive a share of the booty.

Please remember to suggest this when we open the "Let's Spend The Money" thread (tu)

A yes from me but £20 seems a bit mean at least £50 I say...the club gets it after all!

Maybe.

That's up to you, the members to decide - so get discussing (tu)

Bear in mind that we are still probably going to give more of our unspent money to Rangers in one form or another in the future. So there's an argument for not throwing too much at any one thing, in order to 'spread our investment' across various initiatives (eg: an Ibrox Brick being one that comes to mind from me; sponsoring a matchday ball, being another suggestion from another member)

Thought we had agreed to give the surplus to the YES Scotland campaign?

Voted yes to buying raffle tickets.
