five stars 1,767
Would anybody be willing to invest if you had the opportunity to pay the purchase price over a certain period of time to buy shares?Say for example, you had to put down a 50 quid deposit and then had 9 monthly payments of £50 to pay for £500 worth of shares. With maybe a deadline of 31st of Jan to apply?I've already applied for £500 worth of shares (can't afford any more at this time of year) but would be able to invest more if we had more flexibility in paying for the shares. How likely are we to subscribe for 10 million pounds worth of shares a week before Xmas? That's 20,000 people at £500 a head.I would hope that any shares not bought initially would be made available to fans though some other option. It's not as if we need the money to go into the club right now. Even if it were to take a year or two for fans to invest the ten million which would give us a 20% stake in our club. GMac 1,405
Its an IPO. Not sure if the rules would allow. You would effectively be getting a loan from the club.
five stars 1,767
I've no idea of the legality, there must be some way of doing it?
DarcheVinny 1,003
This type of idea could work as part of a fan ownership model, when trying to buy shares off existing investors, but doesn't work for an IPO.
