ForeverBlue_Since91 2,895
A MAN has been charged with sending a Twitter threat to BBC Scotland reporter Mark Daly. The comment was sent following the award-winning reporter’s investigations into the financial troubles that have engulfed Rangers in the last 18 months,The man, aged 35, was arrested last week in Clydebank, near Glasgow, in an operation by the Football Coordination Unit for Scotland (Focus). He was later released and is due to appear at Dumbarton Sheriff Court next month. Daly won a Bafta best television documentary award last month for his programme Rangers – The Men Who Sold the Jerseys, which went out in May.It exposed secret emails and documents linked to the Ibrox club’s financial crisis which saw them go into liquidation. The threatening tweet was sent after a BBC report by Daly about Rangers administrators Duff & Phelps, which was broadcast in October. The tweet was spotted by the Focus team, who probe football-related crime. It is understood police contacted Daly to bring that message and others to his attention.A BBC Scotland spokesman added: “This is a matter for the courts and the police. We take the security of our staff very seriously.”Daly, 37, won a UK Bafta in 2004 for his film The Secret Policeman.Maybe i'm just noticing the Rangers fans getting charged here but, i see comments everyday on that twitter from maniacs who think their republicans, sending abusive tweets to Rangers fans, Rangers players and sons of the Rangers management team but i never seem to here any of them getting charged. paisleyroad 894
From Rangers fans?it does not say, could just be 'friends' on her facebook but you only have to put 2 & 2 together to see were they are pointing the finger & they use the term 'hate mob' but no mention of who.strange thing is, halfway through the story the reporter quotes the girl as saying 'I’m going to have to go to the police' , so does that mean the reporter went to the girls for a story as she has not even made a police complaint?to be honest if the girls is getting threats then action should 100% be taken but can the Sun not just report the story with some facts?
