ForeverBlue_Since91 2,895
The RST is pleased to announce that we have lodged a cheque this afternoon for £250,000 and an application for shares with the club’s stockbroker.RST and its members raise £250,000The support for BuyRangers.org has been fantastic and in four short days it has become the largest Community Share Scheme in UK history. There have been nearly 2000 individual investors including Alastair Johnston, 2 Rangers supporting MPs and former Rangers player, and record SPL goal scorer, Kris Boyd who also signed up this morning. This afternoon we received an email from Imran Ahmad which read“Many thanks to you and your colleagues for all your support from Charles, Brian and me.Merry Christmas.”The board of the RST would also like to thank all involved for their support in what promises to be an exciting journey towards fan ownership. From small acorns grow great oaks.RST Board I still don't understand why the people highlighted didn't do it directly through Rangers?I supposed it doesn't matter as the money has went to Rangers anyway. I wonder how much they put in?

bluebear1971 54
Fair play to them, I know alot of people don't agree with the trust but it has given fans a chance to help the club for less than the £500 minimumIf the fans who invested through the trust are happy with the way they invested then I am not going to criticise . Alnic3856 358
2000 people conned into believing they have a say, own something or are a part of some kind of revolution. When in fact they own fuck all, have no voice and must now fork out extra cash annually to continue to be a part of the charade. Fucking criminal is my opinion. Alnic3856 358
And ok so not all of the 2000 have been duped but to suggest a lot of Bears haven't been fiddled here is shite. Twitter is full of halfwitted Bears proudly proclaiming they have just bought shares in Rangers and are passing them onto children etc, their legacy they call it, fucking embarrassing episode, skulduggery at best. The Beast 9,521
Why not just put aside £25 to buy shares post-IPO and send £100 direct to Dingwall in a brown paper envelope. You'd still be better off.

The RST scheme was explained to all before they invested. All monies went to Rangers, it's sad that some just have an obsession with criticising the RST. Great day for Rangers. bilko89 507
Is there a way of purchasing shares after the offer? Anyone know where to start?
Hossy 42
So much for them stating 25% of investment. Something else doesn't add up...£250,000 raised through 2000 investors = £125 each. The minimum. But they have had pledges of £250, £500 and more on their twitter page in values. What's their real figures?

I'd rather insult a fellow bear for being dumb enough to allow himself to be fooled by this con, than fucking rob money off a fellow bear to further my own selfish aims. DelightfulDennis 123
The RST deserves a great deal of credit for this. They've opened the door to investors who possibly couldn't afford to, or were unwilling to, pay the full £500. It's great to see so many have backed this, especially with it being so close to Christmas. Well done to the many volunteers who have made this possible. Redwhiteandblue 3,330
I haven't read the full thread, but that makes 2000 lots of £125 if my maths is right. Is that not how many members they have?Well done to them anyway.Never thought I would say well done to the RST. boss 1,941
To put it in perspective, 99.5% of Rangers is owned by others.99% of people in Manchester didn't invest through them, only 1% did. That's less than 0.1% of our worldwide fan base, so they don't represent 99.9% of fans.We were told that 5,000 fans had joined the Trust over the years. Given the year we've been through, 2,000 is a tiny number of folk. And at least some of them actually think they own shares in the club!
