I was glad I was sitting down when I read this article on line. The SFA have told Dundee United that they CAN'T interfere in our boycott!

Maybe there are still some forms of protest left in this world after all.

SFA tell Dundee United that Rangers are in the clear over fans' Scottish Cup boycott

19 Dec 2012 00:01

UNITED wanted clarification over issues including Rangers' entitlement to gate money from the match but the SFA have concluded none of their rules or articles have been breached.

THE SFA have told Dundee United there is nothing they can do to interfere in the Tannadice club’s boycott bust-up with Rangers.

United wrote to SFA chief Stewart Regan two weeks ago after Charles Green took the unprecedented step of formally backing the supporters snub of the Scottish Cup clash between the two clubs.

Arabs owner Stephen Thompson wanted clarification on several issues surrounding the shock move, including Rangers’ rights to their full share of the gate money if they refuse to take or sell tickets.

Record Sport understands the governing body have now replied to United to say none of their rules or articles have been breached by Rangers and that the Ibrox outfit will not be charged with bringing the game into disrepute ahead of the February showdown.

It will be Rangers’ first trip to an SPL club since they failed to persuade the top flight sides to vote ‘yes’ to a transfer of their share in the league from oldco to newco last summer.

The SFA may well have to get involved in the issue if the clubs fail to reach an agreement over ticket pricing for the tie.

Rangers chief executive Green has vowed to give his club’s share of the gate from the game to charity.

The SFA know the days of kicking us are gone now.

They are in so much crap, they need us back onside.

Just a shame they didn't realise that before they started their shameful campaign against us.

Makes my day knowing how much Thompson will be raging over this. I'm sure he'll put a brave face on it and try to come up with something to spite it.

Charles picked his words carefully, them hating bastards can reap what they sow. Can see none of their idiots turning up, then we give them a beating with a last minute penalty

Oh how I would dearly love to see that happening.....But I have a gut feeling THEY will actually play for a draw in this crazy situation.

A replay at ibrox with the dundee Hibs fans boycotting it .......Thompson would have to give their share of gate receipts to charity or they would look like a bunch of tight fisted ,two faced whingers .which is what they are anyway .

So that's what that fanny Thomson was after.

There is nothing to stiop them selling tickets direct to Rangers supporters. So how can they complain about Rangers not taking the tickets - all the club is doing is the admin for the sales and allocating to the correct supporters who have enough credits for away tickets.

The club don't want any and thefans don't want any otehrwise they could have done this.

Not on our side just cant do anything about Fans right to vote with their feet.

What Smile Says. (tu)

If the SFA could do anything at all to screw us on this, they most definitely would, but the rules are 100% on our side.

So BNB, please edit your thread title, as this is misleading.

Thanks.

Well what can they do? Lots of teams don't take their full allocation when they visit Ibrox (or Parkhead or Hampden) because they simply don't have that many fans. You can't force clubs the buy the tickets, only force the home side to make them available if the club wants them.
