Maverick_Golfer 11
We all know that there is a transfer ban until Jan 2014, but we are permitted to buy under 18's. Does any bear know if we have a scouting network throughout Europe? Surely we should have scouts in Scandanavian Counties and other countries such as Romania, Czech Republic and Greece and targeting some of the hotest talent around. I have always felt Rangers were always a step behind in terms of scounting the cream of talent across Europe. They players are out there, we just need to dig to find them,,I would hope Rangers refuse to buy domestically and give money to the teams that tried to destroy us. Instead we should have scouts all over Europe speaking to 16 and 17 year old kids. We have fantastic training facilities at Rangers and the kids would only improve.Just not heard anything on this. If any bears have, would like to hear?
El Carpintero 546
We are looking at taking 3 or 4 players from the SPL on free transfers, that is a cracking way to improve our team and piss off the vhermin of the SPL. On European scouting, i doubt we have any sort of network whatsoever anywhere.
TMB 14,167
Of course we have a scouting network. That's how we managed to unearth gems like Matt MacKay, Juanma Ortiz, Mervan Celik, etc:methface:

Redwhiteandblue 3,330
To be honest Football Manager is terrific for scouting players - Am sure Davie Moyes bought a player after buying him on FMThe amount of unheard f youngsters on FM that go on to be huge players in the game are unreal. They must have the best scouts in the world.I mind LMA manager from 2001 had loads of youngsters that went on to be top players. Mexes, Torres, Cassano were the ones I remember I used to buy at under 21 age for peanuts. Although Titus Bramble was one that was young and became amazing in that game as well. :-(

Reformation Bear 6,453
I'd be amazed if scouting and coaching policy, resources and systems are not being examined by Ally and maybe even increasingly by Charles now that much of Charles' early objectives are met. The reason - realising the ambition to get back to the very top ie Rangers playing CL football and at the top levels means finding and developing the best young players via our youth system; finding top quality emerging players at affordable and good value transfer fees and for them to develop to top flight via our coaching; and attracting the best we can afford top finished article players who will give that extra edge to achieving the ambition. And we've said we'd sell too so if there is to be (perhaps more of) a player churn in due course then the replacements need to be on stream and fit in quickly so that the CL objective is reached. No mean feat and central to it is scouting and coaching and of course managing the team. And having said that I do not want to see any players sold in the next transfer windows. We need to keep predators from other leagues at bay so that our rebuilding can grow stronger.
TMB 14,167
Bougherra recommended Kerkar and he was signed. It's a joke. Our coaching staff and scouting network needs to be seriously looked at.

Maverick_Golfer 11
I have been on about this for years, seems like our knowledge outside the UK is zilch... Worries me when we target Kevin Kyle and Ian Black, when am sure there are much better players in Europe who would love to come to our club on a lower wage.
