Jonok 1,245
http://www.rangers.c...eal-wallace-redRANGERS have submitted an appeal against Lee Wallace’s sending off in last night’s 3-0 victory over Annan Athletic at Ibrox to the SFA this afternoon. The former Hearts defender was dismissed in the second half of the win against the Galabankies for fouling Jack Steele in the penalty area.Referee Paul Robertson had no hesitation in awarding a spot kick but also showed Wallace a straight red card.Although the player himself reluctantly accepted the verdict and left the field of play, captain Lee McCulloch’s own protests were so strong he was cautioned in the aftermath.Having reviewed footage of the incident at Murray Park today, manager Ally McCoist feels the decision to remove the 25-year-old from the match early was harsh. And after careful consideration, the Light Blues have exercised their right to appeal against the ruling. It is understood the consequent hearing will not take place at Hampden Park until next Thursday due to the festive period. That being the case, Wallace would therefore be free to play against Elgin City this weekend then Clyde on Boxing Day. The Monk 3,209
Good, ridiculous decision for the red, probably even for the penalty
AlBear. 8,499
So we should. Whether it was a penalty or not is open to debate (I say not) but it was definitely not a red card.

Sweeney 241
we won't win this appeal but a good decision to go ahead with it as it gives our injured defenders extra time to get fit to fill in. We would have struggled in our next few games to field even 3 defenders. For the record, I don't think it was a red card or a penalty, but to win these appeals it really has to be a dive or truly awful decision and it wasn't either. It was just a soft decision. kirkiebear 1,013
Just read the match report in the daily record. According to David McCarthy it was a barge and a goal scoring opportunity, so the penalty and red card were the right decisions. What the fuck was he watching Also how can a ball that he was never getting be a clear goal scoring opportunity?
simplythebest 11,453
Little chance the SFA will overturn it.
