Bad Robot 21,513
I would only accept the 'Orange' Rangers lol
Ozblue 4,332
Unfortunately, McMurdo is stating the obvious if we are to reach the level that Charles Green aspires to while still operating at a profit for investors as the face of football changes. The only way Green can do this is utilise every available way of bringing in money OR raising the price of season tickets to the point where the supporters will begin to grumble at the cost. It's no good trying to live a champagne lifestyle on a fucking beer budget,so we either settle for being top of the pile in the Scottish system,or get ready for a new order in European leagues,IF it happens as Green predicts.I personally would be very wary of renaming Ibrox, depending on the name and the finacial gains on offer. As naming us the Ikea Rangers or some other shite, no fucking way,Billy Boy!
Guest
I would be up for renaming Ibrox, but fuck renaming the name of the team. Thats just too far imo. Is that what we've got to look forward to? a future where thousands will gather to watch a grudge match between McDonalds FC and Starbucks Rovers? bombaybadboy08 15,660
Good article, money talks. Not too keen on the stadium being renamed,or anything else but if you offer some serious money that would make our club stronger for years to come I would be disappointed in Charles Green for not accepting it. ger50champ 300
I'm not to bothered about the renaming of Ibrox stadium as long as it brings in loads of money for the club ,beggars would probably just copy us anyway .One thing would always stay the same though for us .Ibrox stadium would still be the lions den and rodents place would still and always will be the Scumdome piggery
wearethemighty 186
Renaming Ibrox isnt as bad as some suggest, it will always be Ibrox to us. Doing what the owners of Cardiff City did ie changing the colours of the strip etc is a big no though!
novosleftboot 6,358
Ikea Rangers Fuck that!

Falcoholic 1,348
See the mankies turned down an offer from a well known real estate agent to rename their stadium.http://www.savills.co.uk/Can't imagine why.

geronimoo 1,578
If it brings in money then I don't mind if the stadium is gave a new name, I think in the future nearly all the big clubs will have a sponsor on its stadium. It has been happening in England for years now. simplythebest 11,453
I doubt anyone would want to rename the team, especially if it would drive away much of the fanbase.
ritchieshearercaldow 22,450
Rangers then, Rangers now, Rangers for ever.Don't even think about changing our club name, they'll be wanting to change the colours next
Fools Gold 488
I understand that everything may have its price, but for me it's a step too far incorporating the sponsor into the team name.As for the stadium? Of course, as long as it's a copious amount of money. I couldn't care less about the advertising around the stadium either. It's all about the team on the pitch. And we will always call our magnificent stadium, Ibrox.

Brian Fantana 28,894
it's this kind of scaremongering shite that leads to unrequired protests in Ibrox.

elephants stoned 2,994
I would be up for renaming Ibrox, but fuck renaming the name of the team. Thats just too far imo. Is that what we've got to look forward to? a future where thousands will gather to watch a grudge match between McDonalds FC and Starbucks Rovers?Surely the real derby game would be McDonalds FC Vs Burger King Athletic at Ronald McDonald park. trueblue68 2,497
I feel a bit uneasy with this sort of talk from Charles. I am back on full guard mode. I am sort of not sure if i trust him or not now.
