The Mongoose 1,007
With Hearts being discussed in another post on here, this is in today's Rhebel......Are The Pars Next?DUNFERMLINE players went to war with their club yesterday by striking over a lack of pay.]The squad refused to train after becoming frustrated at a string of broken payment promises. It’s the second successive month salaries have been late after the Fifers paid less than half of their players’ wages for November. Despite the club making several assurances, their failure to deliver the money on time has caused fury.Several players were even unable to make the journey to East End Park yesterday due to a lack of funds. But director Gavin Masterton then released a statement that promised to pay all of the outstanding wages by the end of today.Record Sport understands several stars have still to see the cash hit their accounts and will wait until this morning to see if the latest promises are made good before deciding what to do.Boss Jim Jefferies said: “We had boys who couldn’t afford to travel to training on Wednesday and were too embarrassed to tell me.“I understand it isn’t their fault. They just couldn’t afford it. A lot of the players are getting to the stage they are fed up not getting paid.“These players are not on the kind of salaries where they can afford to go one month without a wage.“Up until now they have been quite happy to go along with what the club have been telling them but it has been brought to a head with the failure to meet deadlines.“The players have been a joy to work with. This was the first day they felt down but they have bills to pay and are preparing for Christmas.”PFA Scotland chief Fraser Wishart also praised the Pars players for their attitude throughout the troubles. He said: “Throughout this they have been professional and managed to sustain their performance levels. But there have been a few deadlines which the club haven’t met.“If those payments aren’t made by the close of play then the players’ patience may wear thin.”Masterston, though, insisted there wouldn’t be any more problems and also revealed a bill of £50,000 due to HMRC had been honoured ahead of their deadline. He said: “No issue is more important than paying our players and staff. I’m delighted to say we will manage to do that.“It means they can enjoy Christmas and I want to pay tribute to them.”The Pars also announced their intention to create a position on the board for a fans’ representative. And Masterton revealed they have been encouraged by the response from supporters over plans to launch a share issue. He said: “We will move ahead with this at pace. It will help to secure our future in more ways than one.
GMac 1,405
Like them to live long enough to get promoted to the SPL. That would make it three clubs technically insolvent in the top league along with Hearts and Aberdeen.

ZZed 4,560
It is the natural consequences of poor financial management but it may have a up side somewhere, who knows, look at our story and we are now in rude health.

danger ranger 922
Anyone taking delight in this really needs to take a look at himself. No the people who should be looking at themself, if they can bear it, are the people who voted to put rangers to the sword.Just like the old saying, you live by the sword you die by the sword. BlueSuedeSambas 56,603
I'd be happy enough for us to bring McMillian back and give him another chance to make it with us.He can play a number of positions that we are weak in, he has leadership skills and he knows what the club is all about. Getstiffed 8,863
Looking at myself and DELIGHTED with what I see. Thanks for the tip. Come on to fuck mate. Look, Im as angry as anyone with how we have been treated, but to take delight in the possibility of people being unemployed is crazy imo. Not everyone at these clubs have waged a campaign against us. The people who have, I have no sympathy for, but at the same time I wont lower myself to the level of wishing or willing them in to unemployment. As someone already stated: we are better than that. And just so we are clear, Im not asking you to feel sorry for them, because like I said I don't either; but its far, far below my station as a Ranger to wish that upon anyone. They will get what they do or don't deserve without my Ill will.
Guest
I have no problem with Dunfermline, or any club other than those in SPL. Hope they get things sorted out.
Marco Negri's Beard 1,423
While I'm not actively seeking the death of any club, I must admit, my first thought is always 'which of their players could we take when they go under?'
Smile 26,624
John Yorkston and his team dying sounds good to me, after all he was one of the main players in the media circus kicking our club when it was down.

I do have a bit of sympathy for those behind the scenes i.e admin staff etc. But lets remember the sympathy they had for us!I to am stunned at the number who have 'Forgotten' the pain that we went through over the months since Feburary and vowed to NEVER FORGET what the rest of Teams fans enjoyed...YES ENJOYED what was happening to us.Remember DUNFERMLINE were an SPL club at the time and their Chairman was one of the main guys to speak out against us!FUCK 'EM! Moody Blue 10,094
I've sat in Yorkston's office for work and and is a complete a-hole and was extremely vocal during our situation. I will not be happy until each of these individuals get what's coming to them!Yes it's sad about players not being paid at this time of year, move onto someone that will pay you! Not for me. Like I said, and you seem not to have read, I have no sympathy for those who waged a campaign against us, but that doesn't mean I hope they lose their jobs. They are guilty of wrong doing with serious consequences so I dont have to wish or hope for anything: it will inevitably happen. And again, for the third time just so its completely clear: I dont expect anyone to feel sorry for them, however I do expect you to be Rangers class.
