Just to help sort a pub debate amongst mates.......

The question is can anyone remember why the game kicked off in the afternoon on a wednesday? it was either a 2pm or 3pm Kick off.

we lost 1-3 over there, big Amo with a stinker of a handball giving away a pen and porrini got sent off in the first half.

I remember being in PE asking the Janny what the score was

I was in guidance and asked to go to the toilet so I could find out the score on my wee portable radio. I burst back into class shouting that we were 1-0 up to big cheers, but Porrinni had just been sent off to big groans.

Found this after a bit of a rummage around Google:

Rangers have agreed to play the return leg of the forthcoming UEFA match with Parma to 1.30pm British time to accommodate Italian television.

But negotiations for TV coverage of the first-leg at Ibrox continue without any deal being clinched with the BBC.

It was a 1.30pm kick off was it not?

I have a question as well. What possessed Amoruso to punch the ball for no obvious reason in the box?

I remember hurling a volley of foul language at the TV in my front room at him and my Mum giving me a bollocking for it.

Was it 1-1 at Ibrox?

Was that mate.

We got revenge the following year of course....i don't think i realised at the time just how good that Parma team were. Im sure i read they had gone 5 years without losing from open play in a European tie.

Porrini scored in first half and we went in at H-T one nothing up, under no danger till Amo pressed the self destruct button in the second half playing volleyball.

never forgive or forget that one.

It was Albertz who scored, Porrini got sent off.

I love correcting people.

Gordon Durie missed a sitter at Ibrox right at the end which would have ended that run.
