Rangers First

There are some who will have missed the thread on the Follow Follow website regarding David Leggat's latest blog – The Enemy Within. Let me assure those who did – you are the lucky ones. The sight of the Rangers support tearing strips off each other was as unedifying as it was heart breaking.

Personal attacks, personal recrimination, personal accusations, personal animosity. You will note the repeated use of the word “personal”. When the person is put first you can rest assured that Rangers come a very poor second. Isn't it about time we made sure that in our every action, word and deed that our sole motivation is simple – Rangers First ?

Or does satisfying old scores, personal feuds and age old divisions take precedence over putting Rangers First ? Perhaps, more alarming, have we reached a stage, when we truly believe that settling such scores are actually putting Rangers First ? Almighty God, help us in our blindness and pride filled ignorance.

What an indictment it is on us as a support that in an age of computers, internet, social media and e-mail we are more fractured as a support than were before these tools were available to us. These tools should be utilised to fulfil the potential this support has, working as a cohesive unit, not vilifying one another. If the Rangers support organised and orchestrated a one day unofficial general strike – this country would grind to a halt. That is the potential, but time after time after time we fail to fulfil it.

It is unrealistic to strive for complete unity. In any family unit there will always be differences of opinion, method and approach. It's normal. Our challenge, and our ultimate effectiveness as a support will be determined by our ability to both recognise our differences, live with them, and find the common ground which allows us to perform effectively in our strive towards the common goal – Rangers First.

(This is not just an ideal..it is a challenge to the leaders of the various Rangers factions, and I sincerely hope the Rangers support as a whole hold you accountable)

I have spent years writing and blogging, defending our club, defending our support, defending our traditions from attacks by all and sundry. I am not the only one. But all those hours, pouring over research to ensure what we produce is accurate, visiting the very heart of the soul to tap into that which is mystical and beyond rational to explain our love for the Rangers, will count for nothing if personal vendettas, personal agendas and an inability to work, together, towards a common goal, fail to put Rangers First.

To quote a historic Rangers mantra....”Rangers deserve better”

To quote a historic Nike advertising slogan … “Just do it”

And with that this musketeer bids you all a fond “ Adieu”

RANGERS FOREVER

Kind Regards

D'Artagnan

Some people just have very large egos D'Artagnan, and they all without exception forget where we have been for the past year. I wonder how their egos would be if these people from the "dark side" had managed to extinguish us from existence.

Interesting D'Art, that FF should go in that direction - seemed a lot on here thought Leggo's piece was very pro-RST (synonymous with FF) & that it might have been a dig at those on here who were sceptical of the RST.

Seems like the old lad has upset everybody!

Upset being the operative word - I have now been banned from FF as a result of this article.

their loss ... have read many of your posts and viewed a few of your exchanges with those who don't agree with your viewpoint from back when this site first got started after the bbc changed it's format - fantastic reading that many a journo could learn from!!

They know what they are doing in splitting up the Rangers Fanbase.

We the non members of The RST are the Majority in all this bickering and Fueding .

Its a certain person at the top of all this who popped up on tv and fed his ego during our darkest hours.

RST are the big danger to Rangers fans as far as I am concerned.Feeding their Egos and personal attacks on Fans who disagree with them.

Quod erat demonstrandum.

There are two types of Rangers fan: one which knows the poison that divides us, and one which is yet to find out. Welcome to the former.

You have joined an elite club. Was banned a few years ago for being critical. It is their loss. This is a much better forum where people are allowed to have their opinion, not something ruled by Dingwall, who is not representative of a Rangers supporter

Never been on FF and likely never will be. Cannot understand why so many are banned from their forum over apparently a suggested sleight or difference of opinion. Can anyone explain this?

They are in the pocket of RST.

Any opinion which is at odds with the RST's opinion is not allowed.

It is, in essence, a dictatorship

I,ve been banned 3 times now from ff the last time being last week and this time i,m not going back.I once bought a hamburg union jack pin badge from suck(dingwall) which i never recieved and after several emails he finally decided to send me my badge which i had paid for and only cost £2.50.Never liked the man since and let my membership of the rst elapse for that reason. As you will know i dont post very much but i like to be kept informed with all things Rangers and i will continue to get this info from here.I totally agree with D'art but i dont see it changing anytime soon until some egotistical people are willing to step aside.

I got a lifetime ban from FF a few years ago for "Abuse of a fellow poster". It was about 2 weeks into Watties 2nd stint and some guy was on slagging Walter and Ally off - wrong choice, backwards step, blah blah. I basically told him to stop being a knob and to give the guys a chance. The poor wee sensitive soul took a hissy fit and that was me banished forever - I really miss it . . . .NOT!!

I've never been on FF either but having read a great many articles on here from various posters with very different viewpoints who were banned from that site for apparently airing unpopular [to them] posts it makes me wonder why it is so popular?, surely not everyone over there has the same views?

The main reason I personally enjoy this site is that everyone can air their feelings, unpopular or not, within reason, it makes for a healthier place to view supporters opinions, I'd much rather have that than having to toe the party line and be told what to think, as seems to be the case over on FF.

However as I've stated, not having been over there I could be wrong and stand to be corrected, but there is no denying that they are a powerful lobby in the media, and that makes them dangerous if they are declaring that they speak for The Rangers support if indeed they are in the minority, if that is the case the rest of the support have to make there feelings known.

D'art, I don't think you will find many,[if any] on here disagreeing with what you have to say re: the support, having enjoyed reading your many thought provoking posts there is no denying that you have the wellbeing of The Rangers and supporters at heart and as others have said it's their loss at not having an intelligent poster in their midst.
