Carsons Dog 9,878
This is the way ahead - the more people who watch RTV the better bargaining position we are in when it comes to renegotiating a TV deal.
MasterD 7,457
Probably enough money made from that to pay for more than half the 1st 11s wages for the week.

mabawsa 888
Another reason we need to negotiate on our terms when the Sky deal comes up for renewal in 2013. Plain and simples. We make or break the TV deal. The viewing figures show it continually we are the biggest draw and interest. Why the feck should one man and his dog supported teams like Dundee Hivs , Sheep Utd live off our support. They hate us but expect our pound! Make them beg Chaz and a few grovelling apologies before we even consider signing any TV deal. We could send a few of the double faced cabal e.g Hertz to the abyss by playing hardball. See how they feel being blackmailed his time.
SwallowsHisOwnSpunk 8,002
we can't negotiate individual deals any negotiations done would have to be by the SFA/SPL they are the ones that run the league and the ones that own the rights and they won't cut their revenue by letting us have our own deal. JCDBigBear 11,002
We don't know exactly how many tuned in. If it was the lowest end of 5 figures we are looking at £60k income. There will be set-up costs and the hire of cameras, crew, etc. You can also bet that we will have had to give a payment to Elgin and probably the SFL. I paid to watch it yesterday and was really pleased with the quality of the picture. Not a single glitch. I'll do it again whenever we are on RTV and if I don't get tickets for the game. mabawsa 888
we can't negotiate individual deals any negotiations done would have to be by the SFA/SPL they are the ones that run the league and the ones that own the rights and they won't cut their revenue by letting us have our own deal.In 2013 the TV rights revert back to Rangers. As we are not part of the SPL then they cannot sign over our TV rights without our agreement. We own those rights not the SPL . We signed our TV rights over at the start of the Sky deal and last year was a optional year that Sky only honoured if the SPL could guarantee the Rangers TV rights were included. That they did as they blackmailed us for the licence. First rule of negotiation. Know your worth. IMO our TV rights should be valued at least 40 per cent of the TV contract. If we don't sign our rights over then Sky should offer only 50 to 60 per cent of the current deal to SPL. Nothing stops us negotiating a collective deal with the SFL clubs on either RTV or Sky/ESPN. Not an individual deal but one that includes all SFL clubs and excludes all SPL clubs. That sounds fair. If we ain't in their league then why would we allow them to use our TV rights as oppossed to clubs that we affiliated to?
