It's Miller time take 3

KENNY MILLER wants a return to Rangers.

The Scotland striker has revealed he would jump at the chance of a sensational THIRD spell at Ibrox.

Miller is under contract to Vancouver Whitecaps in the MLS but the 33-year-old is currently back in Scotland training with Ally McCoist’s squad to stay in shape. Gers can’t sign any new players until September 1, due to their transfer ban.

Miller said: “There is no doubt I would come back.

“I’d definitely do it, it’s whether it could happen. You never know in football.

“Rangers hold a strong place in my heart. When I was a kid I always wanted to play for the club.

“I used to come through with my cousin to watch games regularly and I always said it was my dream to play for Rangers. I managed it not once but twice.

“It didn’t quite work out the first time but I was lucky enough to come back and had a great two and a half years where we won leagues and cups.

“It was the best time in my career in terms of form and goalscoring. I had a lot of highlights. The Old Firm games were massive and I seemed to pop up with goals in those matches.

“I’m delighted to be back at Murray Park. You miss the place. I always said when I was here it was an amazing place to come and work and that has not changed.

“It’s been brilliant to catch up with Ally McCoist, Kenny McDowall, Ian Durrant, Jim Stewart and the boys.”

Miller’s last spell with Gers ended in January 2011 when he joined Turkish outfit Bursaspor.

But he added: “I never wanted to leave.

“At the time we were trying to negotiate a new deal and it was pretty much made clear to me that wasn’t going to happen.

“I wish I could have stayed.”

Would we really take Miller back? Ally has said time and time again that he wants to blend youth with experienced individuals. Which at the moment i think he is doing quite well!

Don't get me wrong Miller has done well for us in the past, but do we really need to take him back for a third time.

I feel Miller is just trying to tout himself to find another club as maybe things are not so good over in the states.

EDIT: When i saw the title i expected it to be something about that American Tycoon, who tried to buy Rangers before Green's Consortium.

We would have won if Miller had been playing today, it's not just that he wolud have scored today but the runs he makes would have stretched the defence and made room for other players! Our young strikers would only learn from watching him. IMHO. :-)

Id take him. Hes better than Kevin Kyle.

Kind off player who'd relish in the low divisions.

This. We are lacking fire power in my opinion with Sandaza off form, Kyle injured, big Jig under pressure physically regarding pace. Miller can score goals and would at this level. Would also bring experience for the younger players and after what McKay was saying re: Kenny's contribution it shows just how much he can help the younger lads.

At the end of the day if it came down to Miller or Sandaza I'd take Miller.

I think he'd be massive for us in the lower leagues. I'm guessing he's lost a bit of pace, but he'll never stop running. Absolutely brilliant player for us during his second spell, would take him back in a second. He would have finished a couple today.

I'd take him, but I really wish he hadn't spouted that "I wanted to play for a Rangers since I was a wee boy" pish. Absolute nonsense. Everyone accepts/accepted that he is a Hibs fan, and he shouldn't try to dance around it now. Regardless, I'd welcome him back for the SFL journey, although I have a funny feeling that should Kal Naismith be given a bit more time on the park we'll already be up one good striker.

A few questions: When could we sign him? When we can sign him will there be better on offer? Will he fit with our style of play at that time? How long a contract? How will he help teach the younger players that good quality coaching would not?

I think we don't need him and if we go for a older striker it should look at someone who is about 27/28 not 33/ 34 at the time of signing.
