New Rangers security team

I was told as of tmora Rangers have taken all stewards and security in house?

Surely that has been a long time coming and will be fantastic to get the right staff in to build a rapport with the fans on matchday. Even away games for a long time have been good with Rangers officials there but now they are all Rangers employees, can only be a good thing.

Ive not seen this talked about so thought i would thread it!

I would be surprised if this happened as of tomorrow. Surely any contract with G4S would be until the end of a season, and I havent seen any adverts for new stewards/staff.

Hope Im wrong, as I think we could do better if stewarding was in-house...just that the timing seems strange.

If this is the case, I would like Rangers security to liaise with supporters and discuss what they think is not permissable at our stadium so that there is a clear set of rules that can be understood by all.

All too often the current security seems to make the rules up as they please.

I wouldn't get too excited

only downside of this is DM and RH will be running it and both being ex cops fans will need to watch as they have a ban first ask questions later policy.

Aye, they'll be keen to stamp their authority,

Excellent news if true. As well as a revenue saving move this should hopefully add to the supporter experience as G4S are awful

I hope thats not the case! that would then put a dampener on wat could be great and unique to Rangers. If they done it right surely the policing bills will dramitically decrease.

Its worked with orange parades etc were they police themselves, so surely this excercise will save rangers a fortune as well!!!

also another thought, by having this in place do Rangers then invite more concerts etc to the stadium??

Perhaps G4S couldn't supply enough staff --- they did that once before :matron:

This is the same G4S which had the discredited Labour Peer and former Savile FC chairman as their mouthpiece, is it not ? I, personally , wanted them to stay so that, when they failed again, we too could call on the services of our Armed Forces personnel to rescue the situation. Get the word out to the troops coming home that the high-viz jaikets are waiting for them. Meanwhile over at Hollyrood, wee fat Eck and his cronies have engaged the services of *** as security for the 2014 Commonwealth Games.

Depending on how they operate (i.e. if G4S have specifically dedicated 'Rangers' stewards) then it would be likely to see the staff TUPE transferred over to work for the club direct, so, I wouldn't expect any sort of immediate change if this has occurred.

nah mate only the g4s security that are in ibrox 24/7 would possibly tupe & that's only like 4 guys, the wee nazi's you see on match days work for g4s events & 75% of them are on 0 hours contracts ie students & the like. If its true we would have to hire a whole new army for matchdays.

Lets hope David Martin is the 1st to get shown the door. This is the same cunt that never allowed TBO and the UBS to expand the section which Rangers and the Rangers ticket office were happy to do.

He put an end to it and would rather see everyone sitting down reading a book.
