It's not the wages, it's the length of the contract on offer, he wants minimum 2 yrs, only been offered 1.

Although, I do find the £10k/wk salary ridiculous, for this level we're playing at.

Offering a keeper like Neil 1 year on his contract is shocking. There should be no worries about handing him a 2 or even 3 year deal. As he gets older he would be a more than suitable back up to a younger keeper, and a good mentor too. Keepers can play on much longer than others.

Anyway, I'm sure Neil will put pen to paper.

Makes him sound a bit greedy when in reality he's being asked to take a cut with less security.

Same situation as Nacho I think? I agreed with us not giving him longer but I think Alexander being a keeper merits it.

I know you may not like this but it's the same as what happened with Miller :matron:

If I was him it wouldn't make me think I'm in the plans

Exactly. Keepers can go on to 40+ but if they don't play regularly they are forgotten. I'd be willing to be he would take 4 year contract at £5k per week than a 1 year at £10k per week. He has been great for us and showed he was patient to get his opportunity, why fuck it up now and offer him less than he is worth. Who is doing the contract negotiations? Ally won't approve of this.
