Just been on the news there about the meeting the Dundee chairman saying the 12,12,18 formation is looking the most likely as clubs want 38 games a season.

No the greedy fucks want us and the fenians at their shiteholes more than once! What's wrong with a 20 team top league, you'll still have yer 38 games, funny that

Still have not figured out why we cant just do 3 leagues of 14.

The thing I don't like about 14 team league is the need for a split. I rather have a 16 team league playing twice. This would mean promoting 6 junior clubs, further diluting the money available.

Yup. Time is ticking away to the end of league sponsorships and then on the near horizon the end of the TV deal - many clubs' finances teetering on disaster - SPL attendances and finances not being compensated by not having Rangers playing nor returning to an SPL as currently constituted - SFL attendances and finances only boosted for the 3rd Div few when Rangers come to visit - failed football product in the SPL - relationships shredded because of an active harm agenda pursued against Rangers - worse to come when Nimmo pronounces and so on. It's not just a Scottish football train crash that is happening its a poisonous radioactive melt-down.

So no surprise really that the lemmings need to consult more quickly more often. Their very own existence is threatened and any activity has, in their minds, got to be better than none. But mistaking activity for effective action is another error they seem set to make. Football lemmings seemingly without any real clue about how to fashion a long-term structure that would stand a chance of regenerating the game. The current proposal is no more than expedient sticking plaster to somehow try to present an image of a constructive move forward to keep / attract sponsors and TV and to fool fans into thinking that all will be well in their clubs' world if they accept the package. Avoiding melt-down is only really what they are meeting to try to do.

In all of this I sure am glad we have a strong CEO and Board backed by the footballing experience of Ally and Walter and the media nous of Jim T. Whatever mess the SPL/SFL (now it seems the same organisation after Longmuir's recent statement) and SFA create I'm sure that the Rangers management team will represent Rangers' interests very effectively whether it is here in Scotland or exploring opporunities to leave this now permanent mess of Scottish Footbal authorities behind. I'm looking forward to hearing Charles' view on the restructuring in due course.

Had to laugh when reporter BBC Jane stated Chairman where looking forward to increased revenue from 36 games a season. Unfortunately does matter how many games a season you play it will not increase revenue if the fans do not turn up when the product you are selling is not right

The fans don't want 4 games against the same team and tv companies will not buy into the split or at least the lower tier which defeats the purpose! This move is to preserve the suits jobs and power and to keep them well financed with no regard for the fans or the game!

I would rather keep the split, instead of the ridiculous idea of this top leage and bottom league splitting into another league.

It will be a shambles from start to finish, a complete logistical nightmare considering the weather and calloffs that will inevitably happen. The austrian league gave it up after 3 seasons because they realised it was a joke.

where is the increase in revenue from current 38 games per season?

Generally I agree with you. This proposal is nonsense, it didn't work in the past and it won't work now.

I think the clubs need to dutch the 'we need 38 games' mentality. Surely with less games, but a higher stakes (play each other only twice means one chance to make it count at home) would make it a bit more exciting? Would it not get the hunters back? Packed stadiums don't happen when the product is stale.

What is needed in Scotland is two leagues of 20 teams PERIOD. Home and Away with the Scottish Cup being a one of, the League Cup being home and away upto the final. Bottom 2 and top 2 go into a play off, with the bottom 4 from the second division going into a play off with the winners of 4 regional leagues, League to go from July to May with a 3 week shut down in January. I know this will make too much sense to the beaks to ever get accepted.

I think this proposal gives too many games. 16 team leagues with rejigged league cup would maybe just strike a fine enough balance. I agree with you on play offs etc, although the numbers would be reduced for a 16 team league.

The SPL with 1 down, 1 up is just awful. It should be 2 down, 2 up with a play-off for the 2nd delegation spot.
