Interesting piece.

Why indeed do they feel the urgency to put it in place for next season? Is there an asteroid on a collision course with Earth that they're not telling us about?

The only problem with a concerted fan campaign, is that Rangers don't have a vote on this, so to them, our opinion (which is blatantly clear) matters not one bit.

So it's up to the fans of the other clubs to try to stop this.

As I said in the piece, there is no reason being given as to why it is also being rushed through. Is there any reason for it? I alluded to the Sky people possibly calling the shots now in many regards - is it they that want this pushed through quickly? Viewing figures down - do they see a new league format as a way of boosting figures through a renewed interest in the game?

As for the bit about the campaign, that's true enough - Rangers fans probably wouldn't be listened to, but as we've seen with fans this summer, could unity spread across other teams to get what they want? Could this idea finally be used for the game? It's all just more of a theory really from behind my keyboard, but it's more just a test in all honesty - would the fans be listened to this time?

Excellent article Gaz.

The question is does it serve to highlight hypocrisy or a deliberate anti-Rangers agenda ?

Cheers, well I'll leave that for the readers to decide!

It could be one with more than a hint of the other shining through... The point being, that when the fans feel strongly enough about something they can make enough of a racket to make themselves heard. Why not do it now? Surely this could be the biggest decision we'll ever make as we attempt to hold all of this together?

That's exactly the point I'm alluding to.

Despite 2 financial forecasts suggesting a meltdown should Rangers be kicked out of the SPL - the demands of the supporters were what influenced those SPL chairmen who cast their vote and rejected Rangers.

Several months on and we find those same SPL chairmen deciding to ignore the demands of their supporters.

the fans are the people who matter if this is to succeed and by all accounts, going on this season nobody will bother to go . and what are you buying into when you get your season ticket as you need a crystal ball to see the future. this is doomed from the begining as its seems that its not for change but to keep it as the same and keep rangers out but take the drawing power that we have as a club and line the other clubs pockets.

Yep, and I've seen very little to suggest that the fans shall be listened to. The only one I have seen alluding to the opinion of the fans is Green, and all the media can focus on is Green looking for a way out of Scotland. Ok, that may be a headline-filler, and it has been for years, but Green has had some very good points in his interviews over the past few days that are washed over as if they don't matter.

The fans opinion is one of them. I can't see it changing otherwise. Also, one has to ask if fans feel strongly enough about this matter to suggest boycotting their own grounds to get what they want? There is many within our game at a loss to what the true priorities are, I fear this may slip away as one that no one quite cared enough about. And it could have great repercussions.

Regarding this 12-12-18 thing, it doesn't really affect us that much. Only really means we'll be playing some of the same shite we're playing already but we'll be playing 90% of the 2nd div aswell anyway just means we don't play them 4 times. won't make a jot of difference to our plans for progression to the top league. And on that note, Hopefully, when we get to the top league, they've redesigned it to be less of an embarrassment than what they're planning. 4 4 4 split pish thing that no one even wants. Reconstruction of the bottom leagues imo is of no real affect to us as in the same amount of years we'd planned for we'd be back in the top league anyway with none of us giving a shit about what happens to the likes of annan or Clyde anymore

Our Chief Exec, our manager and the majority of our support, would beg to differ.

Even regardless of our own position, surely you're at least slightly sceptical of this structure they wish to rush through?

weather it's rushed through this season, next season or 5 seasons from now - it's a shite structure.

I'd be amazed though, if they could actually agree on anything as quick as next season, yes. Ofcourse. This is the same group of people who take a fortnight to conclude, with video evidence that a tim elbowed someone in the face. And that's with their new "fast track" system.

It's a shit reconstruction that'll serve no purpose than but to weaken the top 8 of the now div 2 teams as they'll be playing div 3 teams. Any decent player they have will not stay with them to play 3rd div teams.

What I'm saying though if this is their idea of trying to kick us when they think we're down it's not working, imo.
