Green Pays Euro Clubs.

Recommended Posts

CHIEF EXECUTIVE Charles Green has revealed that European club debts of the oldco Rangers have been paid or settled.

There was no compunction for newco to pay or contribute to any monies owed by the former owners.

There was money owed, for example, to Palermo for Dorin Goian and St Etienne for Carlos Bocanegra.

However, Green has decided that the honourable thing to do was to come to arrangements with all of the clubs who were owed money and he has done that with liquidators BDO.

He said: “What we have done since we came to Rangers was to act properly and not just for the best interests of Rangers but for football as a whole.

“We have a fiduciary duty and a responsibility to our share-holders and we want to run this club honourably and be fully transparent.

“Coming to agreements with all of the European clubs where we paid all of the debts or reached settlements with them is another example of the commitment ‘new’ Rangers have made and not turning our back or walking away from oldco’s responsibilities.

“So we have put down a marker in that regard and what we want to do now is get UEFA and FIFA onside. I have spoken to both organisations informally and in the next few months we will have some formal conversations.”

i would like him to pay the magician that treated the kids with his tricks if he has not already been settled and any other smal businesses that we harmed in any way shape or form. i know the money we raised as a fans group helped square up a good few of these small monies due. it prob wont help them now but will reiterate the class we have as fotball club and institution.

Smashing, but what does he want to get them onside about? What is it that he thinks they are currently not "onside" about?

1. Cross boder leagues

2. Teams playing in leagues out-with their country of residence

3. The Atlantic League

4. TBB (:pipe: ???)

5. Using Ibrox as a UEFA Venue

6. They may also be the appeal body for any disputes with SFA/SPL etc.

Charles Green really knows how to do business! It is also my understanding that the club is also doing business with nearly all the businesses that lost out during administration and some have even been able to negotiate more lucrative contracts for the same as they were doing before.

Well done CG

Good to see this happening, I always found it pretty annoying when the rhats were bleating on about the "poor wee wummin at the flooer shoap n'at" that the big, bad Rangers had left destitute... bawbags.

Does anyone actually know if there's a comprehensive list of (minor) creditors that were owed money & if so, how many are still outstanding and how much is owed to them? i know the RFFF paid off a lot of these smaller debts, but never noticed if there was a list of those who had been settled <cr>
