Tough Love

So once again our Chief Executive is right. Worst ever Rangers team.

Having sorted out some of the minor issues like saving our team from extinction, and getting us back on a sound financial footing, he turned his attention to playing matters and threw down a gauntlet, "worst Rangers team".

Now if your boss had said that would you fight or walk ?

I believe most of us would fight, we'd be on that park, hyped-up, ready for the challenge , to show we were up for the battle and prove him wrong. You'd pull out the stops, you'd make him change his mind. You'd battle for your reputation.

I did not see that today.

The club is living in extremely difficult times. We should be scrapping for every inch gained. The only one I see doing this is Charles. He knew what reaction he wanted. He threw down a gauntlet and quite a few failed. He will learn a lot from this and hopefully act on it.

Charles loves Rangers. He gave out a tough challenge. He is a more blunt Yorkshireman than average (quite an achievement), but he is honest.

I expect all honest Rangers fans to allow Charles his right to demand the higher standard and fight for it, we would expect no less. I believe he has now proven his point, and I believe this "Tough love" and the changes, which are obviosly needed, however difficult they may be, will do us no harm in the long-term.

Go for it, Charles.

Different people act differently to these things. If I had a contract worth a fortune and my boss told me I was 1 of the worst members of staff he'd ever had I'd probably give even less of a fuck and stroll about doing as little as possible. I react well to praise but negativity I take the huff. Others will be different.

Put yourself in Greens shoes - would you tolerate this shite?

I give them all till December, at that point there should be no excuses, players will be in.

Said it before and i'll say it again, everything at the club needs tore apart and rebuilt - coaching, training, scouting, management, players. Thats not to say clear it all out but we are still playing the same shite football as we have done for years

If someone on a high salary reacted that badly to a new challenge he would not last 5 seconds in my book. I'd get someone else who "gave a fuck"

Certainly doesn't love Rangers on the same level as supporters.

He will do what he can to make profit.

So he loves money, who doesn't, he's always been honest about that.

And if Rangers make him money by being successful what's the problem ?

I'm sure he'd love us even more.

The players on the park are nowhere near the Rangers standards we used to know, however they are also miles better than our SFL3 opponents at least on paper they are. But the level of perfomances from almost all have been far lower than they are capable of, so you have our team playing well below what they should and opposition teams pumped up to be facing Rangers and feeling better and better about their chances with every bad result we have, and they're players are playing well above what they normally would. We must dump all the underperformers for the next game, im serious that we should put in our younger Swifts players and give them a chance, i can handle losing if we are seen to learn from it and make some progress with the younger lads.

And therein lies the problem.

We talk about business sence and where the club is going but every one at Rangers are EMPLOYEES. All I've heard over the last year is, "we need good Rangers men in charge".

Well the balance is a difficult one. Ally, contender for greatest ever Ranger, now in the hot seat but should be punted?

Yet CG is a..................heard so many things now I'm confused!!!

We lose a game and the knives are out in force, with not ONE solution apart from GET RID.

After what w have been through this year, a lot of people have very short memories.

Fickle doesn't even come close.

You may have hit the nail on the head there, Is it a case that they have been chosen for the 1st team and think to themselves 'I've made it'. As many of them don't have to worry about someone taking their place in our current situation, there is no incentive for them to play at peak performance.

Its sad to think that thats acceptable to Rangers players to go through the motions and not have any pride in their performance :( not acceptable at this club, i would be dropping every one except probably Andy Little and Lee Wallace, maybe Jig as well as hes been injured for most of this year. Get the likes Mitchell, Walsh, Gasparotto, Gallacher ect in, lads who might have fight and pride and feel they have been given a chance and they want to take it.

They should have pride in their performance and it is sad they don't. Attitudes need to change for the positive or as you say 'people are going to be dropped'.
