We Need A Manager

Recommended Posts

Third time I have set out to write this thread, scrapped the other two.

But in my eyes it has to be said, Ally is not up to the job and before all the usual suspects trot out unfouunded claptrap, he has had just a few games away from completing two seasons in charge and the football is dire.

We are in. Div 3 yet looking at the layout as to his idea of attractive and winning football is nonexistent , we are top of div 3 (yes 3) yet his version of what football is all about is as mentioned dire. Ahhh! But, he never had a preseason, history as in doesn't matter a fig this stage of the season, how many days has he had the players traing to get fit and used to his style of play? How many games have we played? How many players played out of position.

Can he motivate players? I don't believe so.

Does he look as if he knows what he is doing? I don't think so.

Does he have what it will take to make us feared in Scotland again? Again I don't think so.

We are poor and that is worrying, the same old same old gets trotted out from him after a bad result, I'm sick of hearing them now and last weeks praise that Kenny noticed something In the first half and we changed , Christ 7 games to go and he praises someone for noticing the tactics are shite, where has he been all season?

So bin the excuses and stop and think, a number of you will also cry loyalty, loyalty is to the club not an individual. What about the players that will not be offered new contracts by the manager, no loyalty there as he would judge them as not being good enough.

I have to agree with you ED. Theres no shame in Ally not being up to the job of Rangers manager and he is the greatest ever Ranger in my eyes but we need somebody to take us forward on the pitch and for all the wonderfull things Ally did a year ago, becoming the only shred of hope we had at that time, that doesnt win games now, or play players in position, or address the problems we are having and give confidence that he can bang heads together in the dressing room after a result like today.

absolute yawn'.

Yes that's an excellent description of every post you ever make in relation to how we are performing...

It is very frustrating and I don't want to see ally sacked or forced to walk away but as time progresses and the more you look at our performances it really is getting harder to defend him...something certainly has to change or the fans will start voting with their feet!

Sorry ED, but I listened to the BBC phone in tonight, and you are just about quoting Cosgrove there!

Time to step back a little?

No need to be sorry, just giving an opinion as I am. I never listen to any bbc football puntits profs, has been my feeling about the lack of skill our manager displays.

People are already staying away. Can anyone say that the team has improved one bit since the start of the season? We have full timers getting paid plenty with training facilities that the other clubs can only dream about. Our coaching staff need replaced now, we are missing a great opportunity to build a team for the future.

I have great respect for Ally, and would love for him to be a successful Rangers manager, unfortunately I just do not see that happening. So I have to agree with what you say ED.

I am also worried about fans voting with their feet if the standard of play does not improve.

Spot on would never question his footballing ability or his love for the club, it's as our manager my thread is about.

It's his ethos thats most concerning. IF he was trying to play expansive, passing football but it wasn't quiet working for him, i'd have more patience.

Take Rodgers at Liverpool, he's trying to start a revolution to change their football ethos, sometimes it's produced outstanding displays, other times they've got it badly wrong and been whipped 0-3 by relegation threatend Aston Villa.

But McCoist signed Sandaza, Kevin Kyle, he wasn't to sign John Daly, he tried to replace Jelavic with Grant Holt. We put crosses into the box from anywhere in the opponents half. We lack confidence to pass it about the midfield.

We don't try and unlock the door, we just kick at it.

We need something fresh, we can;t afford to get this rebuilding process wrong.

There seems to be a blind loyality from some fans for Ally that dont go to the games. Unless you are at the games you dont realise how bad we are. My worry is the fans attending every week might not next season. We are getting huge numbers at ibtox and the football on display is a shambles.

I would also want him to be successful as our manger but , sad to say I just can't see it, and the thread was not an out and out attack on Ally .

Merely my concerns re his skills to be our manager as in football.

Charlie Green has season tickets to sell, this seasons books sold themselves, and he is watching the same fare as you and i and the mans not blind or stupid, its pretty turgid stuff, if he wants the same number of sales he will do whatever it takes and no messing.

Fans will vote with there feet we have learnt nowt all season we might be ahead in the league, but week after week we are struggling against part timers.....last season we were miles ahead of the tarriers we managed to fukk it up after we lost one player and we got pumped out every cup competition..., this season almost mirrors it different players same clueless manager and coaches.
