Was sitting beside a guy today who was telling me during Tam Fosyth's half time apperance that he was at the septic end in the 73 cup final and then when the great man had went up the tunnel he told me right out of the blue that we need a new manager.

I have a theory actually that those of us who went through the disappointment of the Greig management years are more realistic about the fate of playing legends who can't cut it as the boss.

I'm 29 and although I am desperate for ally to succeed as he was my hero growing up, especially as an ek man like myself, but as time passes I just find it harder and harder to defend him and I struggle to see the ability in him and his coaching staff to move our club forward!

Yes im 54 and want change.

Sadly Ally wont make it IMO.

It is very sad because it would have been great if he had added the title great manager to his golden boots on the park but sadly we are just marking time in our progress back to the top while he is in place :(

I defended Ally earlier in the season but we are actually getting worse. We are outplayed and out thought by teams. We aren't fit and there are no tactics. I didn't think it possible to play worse than last week but was proved wrong. We cannot afford another season going backwards.

41 and think he should still be given till Xmas .can't really argue with the people who think he should go in the summer though . I don't think he will be good enough long term , but I think he deserves a pre-season .even if I don't think it will make a difference .

How do you feel about him being given the chance to spend money?

I think that performances on the park are stinking and no matter your age that won't be a factor.

The thing is some put Ally the man and Ally the manager to two sides and judge him only on his management while others will take into account his previous playing days.

No one wants him sacked and everyone of us wants him to be a great manager.

Sadly for me I do not see any sign of a top manager since he was appointed. A great ambassador and figure for The Rangers but not all legends are managers.

I'm 46 and want a change now , we have wasted a year of rebuilding and the thought of Ally getting a 10 million transfer budget fills me with dread

I'm 32, don't remember the Greig era, but don't think there's any benefit in changing the manager. By all means, let's consider it when we're in the SPL, but we're doing OK with the current set up.

I know we played crap today, and I've seen us play crap a lot this season, but it just doesn't matter. What matters is winning the league, and getting back to where we belong. Ally can have a few years as manager, maybe he might learn something, and become our greatest manager ever; and maybe he won't. I for one would love possibly the greatest ever Ranger, to become our best ever manager, if not he'll be replaced when we get to the top and we'll never forget his contribution.

This is the best possible training he can get; virtually no pressure and he can get to learn as he goes along. Win every game, we should at this level, but it's the big picture that's important.

That's 2 weeks in a row that we have been booed off at half time in the 3rd division

I think age makes a difference to your tolerance levels. Also, over 30s will have grown up with McCoist the player, probably with posters on the bedroom wall. He was my hero when I was younger, I don't think that can be the same for people who were very young or not born when he was playing.

I was desperate for him to be a great manager, still am. I don't see any evidence of it though, he just doesn't seem to have it :disappointment:

A bit nervous to be honest as he hasn't got a great track record with his signings ,I would hope he would know when his time is up and not have to be sacked .I feel sorry for him ,he is in a no-win situation and he isn't doing very well .

Aye, noted, but it just doesn't matter. I'd be more concerned if we were getting booed off against Celtic in the title decider in a few years time. Don't get me wrong, some of these players would be better playing elsewhere, but as long as we win successive promotions, I can live with a few crap performances. If Ally learns, great' if he doesn't; we'll have a new manager when actually matters.

So your willing to watch this dross for another few year, some of us can remember the Greig years and the shite crowds that resulted from it and that is going to happen again if Ally isn't replaced , the crowds are already dropping , winning a league against plumbers and joiners is not enough we have to make progress or risk being in the shadows for years

I didn't vote. I personally think we have seen enough to confirm Ally doesn't have the necessary managerial traits for Rangers, even allowing for all the difficulties he has dealt with. But he deserves longer to prove me wrong on that, he has unquestionably earned the right in my eyes.

So I'm on the fence again

I think we have to remember that the club is still in a weak position and it's only the supporters rallying round that has given us a much needed lift but it really would be a mistake going forward to take that for granted

Our fans have been absolutely fantastic this season ,but, If the attendance was only 34000 today then I think CG and Ally need to act sooner rather than later. Good teams don't form themselves they start with management, coaching and tactics.

I'm nearly 40 and I think it's time for a change, however I think it would be harsh to get rid of him a few weeks before we win the league.

I'd like to think that he'll do the decent thing and not force Green's hand. For all his dedication to the cause and his commitment to the club when he so easily could piss off and go back to A question of Sport he should be offered some sort of Ambassador role or Director of something or other.
