djbroxybear 660
Rangers manager Ally McCoist has urged his players to behave responsibly in the wake of Francisco Sandaza's sacking over a hoax phonecall. The Spanish striker was initially suspended while the club investigated comments he made in a conversation with someone masquerading as an agent, which was subsequently broadcast online.Sandaza, who revealed details of his salary during the call, had his contract terminated this week after Rangers claimed he was in breach of the contract. McCoist is keen to avoid a repeat of the incident and, particularly in an era of social media, wants the rest of his players to act with care. He said: "My views on modern technology, in terms of Facebook and Twitter, is that I do believe it has a lot of positives. "But, sadly, it has a lot of negatives too. "Certainly, in this modern day and age, everybody has to be careful and has a responsibility to do and say the right thing. "More so today than ever, we've got a real responsibility to behave in the correct manner." Asked if the action taken against Sandaza serves as a precedent for any other players deemed to have crossed the line, the Light Blues boss added: "I would certainly say I don't think you can have rules for some and rules for others." Sandaza signed for the Irn-Bru Third Division outfit last summer and endured a frustrating debut season marred by injury and lack of form before his premature exit. McCoist hopes the negativity surrounding the forward's departure will not deter potential targets from signing for Rangers. He said: "I would be very, very hopeful the club could continue to attract top quality players. "It was a club decision and the club, as a whole, made the decision and we are all standing by it." The Spaniard's exit leaves McCoist's already stretched squad depleted further as they prepare to face Queen's Park on Sunday. He said: "Currently, you could argue, we don't actually have a centre-forward on our books at the moment. "Kane Hemmings, who was out on loan at Cowdenbeath, has come in and played in the last couple of games. "Kevin Kyle has left the club, Fran Sandaza has left the club. "It goes without saying that there is major rebuilding that will need to be continued. "Without giving the team away for Sunday, there is every chance Lee McCulloch might revert back to a striking role. "He has done very well at the back for us, and we have certainly looked more solid there, but, in terms of our lack of personnel in forward areas, there is every chance that Lee might move forward." Rangers also parted company with chief scout Neil Murray earlier this week. McCoist confirmed last week that his former Ibrox team-mate had been suspended, before Rangers, who refused to expand on the reasons for Murray's departure, insisted it was not because of any "scandal". Speaking today, McCoist said: "Neil is actually still there for us and has been kept on in a consultancy capacity. "There have been one or two changes within the staff and there is a rebuilding process going on at the club moving forward. That will continue. "I have nothing other than the utmost respect for Neil Murray and the work that he did, and the help that he gave me personally, at the football club. "I was fortunate enough to play with him, I know Neil as an individual. "I think Neil is content with the way things have worked out. "I would have no problem at all with picking up the phone to Neil Murray and asking for advice on players." He added: "It was a club decision again and we move on." Meanwhile, McCoist reiterated his desire to retain the services of Neil Alexander after the goalkeeper was quoted as saying "it looks like they just want me off the wage bill" following a protracted wrangle over a new deal. Asked if his number one was being forced out of Ibrox, the manager said: "I certainly hope that's not the case and I feel that's not the case. "I know our people are still in dialogue with Neil's representatives, I know that for a fact. "I've said all along that we need two strong goalkeepers fighting for that position. "I would like young Gall (Scott Gallacher) to go out on loan next year if possible and I would like two goalkeepers to fight for the number one position. "It's obviously a specialised position, we need two quality goalkeepers, and I have said I would like Neil to be one of them. That hasn't changed."McCoist is keen to avoid a repeat of the incident and, particularly in an era of social media, wants the rest of his players to act with care.He said: "My views on modern technology, in terms of Facebook and Twitter, is that I do believe it has a lot of positives."But, sadly, it has a lot of negatives too."Certainly, in this modern day and age, everybody has to be careful and has a responsibility to do and say the right thing."More so today than ever, we've got a real responsibility to behave in the correct manner."Asked if the action taken against Sandaza serves as a precedent for any other players deemed to have crossed the line, the Light Blues boss added: "I would certainly say I don't think you can have rules for some and rules for others."Sandaza signed for the Irn-Bru Third Division outfit last summer and endured a frustrating debut season marred by injury and lack of form before his premature exit.McCoist hopes the negativity surrounding the forward's departure will not deter potential targets from signing for Rangers. He said: "I would be very, very hopeful the club could continue to attract top quality players."It was a club decision and the club, as a whole, made the decision and we are all standing by it."The Spaniard's exit leaves McCoist's already stretched squad depleted further as they prepare to face Queen's Park on Sunday. He said: "Currently, you could argue, we don't actually have a centre-forward on our books at the moment."Kane Hemmings, who was out on loan at Cowdenbeath, has come in and played in the last couple of games."Kevin Kyle has left the club, Fran Sandaza has left the club."It goes without saying that there is major rebuilding that will need to be continued."Without giving the team away for Sunday, there is every chance Lee McCulloch might revert back to a striking role."He has done very well at the back for us, and we have certainly looked more solid there, but, in terms of our lack of personnel in forward areas, there is every chance that Lee might move forward."Rangers also parted company with chief scout Neil Murray earlier this week.McCoist confirmed last week that his former Ibrox team-mate had been suspended, before Rangers, who refused to expand on the reasons for Murray's departure, insisted it was not because of any "scandal".Speaking today, McCoist said: "Neil is actually still there for us and has been kept on in a consultancy capacity."There have been one or two changes within the staff and there is a rebuilding process going on at the club moving forward. bombaybadboy08 15,660
The league's won, have we no strikers in the youths we can ease into the team? This is an ideal opportunity to give them game time with no pressure.
elephants stoned 2,994
What about the Gallacher lad (not the keeper) hes a striker isnt he? Also i would say that although utility players Jig and Little are best as strikers and Hemmings is clearly a striker, same with Naismith although Ally clearly sees a RW in him.
