Sorry but utter nonsense for me. You're basically saying the stupid 'paki' situation is why he's left?

No. I'm saying he knew very well that comment would cause a "stushi" and this is his "cover" for him getting out of the limelight until all this Craig Shyte stuff dies down. He's effectively going into hiding, because he knows he's got a lot of explaining to do, when its finally discovered what went on with Shyte. Realistically, his position as CEO was untenable anyway, given all the circumstances. He knew this and was probably given the week by the Board to resign.

Engineering his way out, more like vendetta to push him out, like he really wanted to put a potentially racial remark out to assist his departure in this day and age, what utter nonsense

Of course, he did. It's obvious. He's not stupid. He went the papers with the racial remark on purpose, so that he can avoid being questioned every day about his dealings with Whyte. He's getting out of the heat.

A vendetta to push him out is utter nonsense.

This. No doubt about it.

I found this part of the statement sad

Whilst Mr Green strenuously denies any wrongdoing, he has recognised that this negative publicity is a distraction and is detracting from the achievements and reputation of The Club.

The press have a lot to answer for, hopefully when the new laws are past it will stop them printing these negative stories.
