Hearts Majority Owner UBIG Is Insolvent

Recommended Posts

Hearts supporters raised around £1m for the share issue

I was thinking to myself at the time, why on earth (apart from having jambo tinted glasses) would you do that as surely they were going under soon

If they get relegated , I'm assuming there is administration for the club so will those shares now be lost ?

Just heard popcorn teeth saying he's sad to be losing the 3rd biggest team in Scotland from the spl after losing the 2nd biggest team to division 3 last year.

All the taigs will be lapping that shit up aswell, they'll forever be in our shadows, we will always be the biggest team in Scotland, this season alone has proved that

Daily Rebel were chugging themselves over it in today's paper. utterly pathetic

There's no money in flats at present, 25% would need to be for social housing. Flats are what fucked up the housing market allied with Buy To Let.

Go near any builder to sell land for flats and they may look at the land for their landbank but would be extremely hard pushed to build.

You would be surprised. The fountain bridge flats at starting up again with a lot being sold and more have been built along then road across from fountain park, believe these are students accommodation. A few projects that has been closed for years a star king again across here.

Then old brewery is 100% private. First phase is called Springfield and the flats are tiny and well over priced but some fuckers are still buying them.

Then there is the land across the road that looks to be starting up again and the land to the left which will all be private residential.

Not really 25% of all development has to be for social housing.

That's going to be Edinburgh Napier Uni's new student accommodation mate, expected to be complete within a 4/5 months.

Hearts share holders have been told their shares will be worthless if they do into admin that includes the extra shares sold before Christmaas, also they have a 2.5M short fall in the budget but claim 1.5M will come from players leaving over the summer then the 1M will be made up of fans shares again.

See you.

Have not read the full AGM account, but do you mean that Hearts are saying that shares just purchased 4 months ago would be worthless if they go into admin (no surprise), but that to stay out of admin, they will sell some players and then ask fans to buy MORE shares?

Is that not maybe just re-arranging the deck chairs on the Titanic? It will look good, but in the end the ship still sinks.

The news reported that the share holders were angered with the news that the shares bought 4 months ago would be worthless someone said they had guarantees with them, and that they were going to be asked for more money. Also they wouldn't answer questions about new buyers but the bbc report seams to think new buyer were talked about also no mention about the 2.5M short fall in the report but it was in the news.

HEARTS have seven days to find £100,000 or face going bust.

The stricken club last night plunged into a new crisis over an unpaid PAYE bill, with boss Gary Locke in limbo.

They now have a week to settle or face the repect of a winding-up order.

Club chiefs insist they are scrambling to find the funds and that administration isn’t inevitable. But failure to cough up would spark fresh fears for their future with this month’s wages due in under a fortnight.

The hope is season ticket and fresh commercial income will help stave off the latest threat but it’s a race against time. The worry is, if they don’t succeed, a domino effect could lead to the doomsday scenario.

It’s thrown Locke’s plans to overhaul his squad for the new season into disarray.

Moves for Kris Boyd, David Goodwillie and David Wotherspoon have been put on hold until this latest mess is sorted.

Last year Hearts fans helped raise more than £1million after the club was served with an HMRC winding-up order amid the backdrop of a £25m debt.

Vladimir Romanov has not put in a penny for two years, with Hearts’ Scots hierarchy left to pick up the pieces.

Must be difficult for Hearts fans to have to read these constant stories of administration when most just want to support their team and enjoy their football. Those Jambo's have my sympathy but then there's the ones who took great delight in our situation. Well, haha to them. :)
