Thought it was houghton mate, just wasnt 100 percent sure.

The rangers support have barely bothered their hole about Daly signing

Did we not try to sign Alan Maybury as well?

I'm also sure there were rumours that we wanted McCarthy from Hamilton and even went as far as giving him a tour of Ibrox. Granted he's not from the ROI, but he represents them at international level.

The thing that has bothered folk the most is his age with little chance of making any profit if and when he leaves.

Spiers has changed tack so many times he's in danger of disappearing up his own arsehole. Either we're a new club with no history as he alleges he was told by Neil Patey, and therefore have no history of signing or not signing. Or, we're the same club.

To be honest I dont give a flying fuck what Spiers thinks.

If Speirs wants to talk about History, then given all the high profile historic sex abuse cases, he should be writing about the disgusting way that lot swept child abuse at their club under the carpet.

He should be calling for honours won by that club to be stripped from them.

For heavy fines to be imposed and the money given to those genuine victims of the celtic paedophiles.

For apologies to be issued to these poor men

But he does not cause he is only interested in his anti Rangers agenda!

Non existent signing policies can be changed, not that they needed to be cause they are a myth of the press.

Being complicit in child abuse by turning a blind eye NEVER will be able to be altered or forgotten.

I'm quite positive he wrote this with his arms stretching from his mouth, so far up his own arse has he gone

High profile roi player...how many caps does he have and the long overdue bit..................really needs to get back to the drawing board does the one who is palederhosen.........partial to the tight fitting leather Lederhosen.

We have in the past signed players from the roi and have a young goalkeeper for there and until recently we had a coach who played for the roi.

Also the people he mentions "I meet scores of fresh-faced, new-generation Rangers fans - students, teachers, accountants, office workers - who have no truck at all with the old bigotry associated with the club. In fact, they are left nonplussed by these old sores, which they have neither known, nor felt, nor wish to be any part of."

So has another little dig as in it's only the fans that do manual work that are the ones who hark back to the sectarian and racists days they we have been accused of......the man is so full of his own keech.

]Rangers cannot evade its past - we have seen this yet again. The club, with an abysmal policy, established a reputation from which, in the modern period, it is taking decades to recover.

Jon Daly's arrival is one more staging post. And a significant one.

But, but, but i thought you said that we were a new club Spiers!!

@GrahamSpiers Graham, how can you say Rangers are a new club but it cannot escape its past? Are you just going with whatever is negative?

Graham Spiers@GrahamSpiers17m

@MitchellenMan @JohnDCGow @AMcKellar89 Chaps don't get hung up on the old club/new club debate. The historic narrative of 'Rangers' remains.

John DC Gow@JohnDCGow15m

@GrahamSpiers Is the current Rangers a new club or the same club?

Graham Spiers@GrahamSpiers9m

@JohnDCGow I take the compassionate Uefa position: whether technically a new club or not, the historic narrative stays. You agree?

John DC Gow@JohnDCGow5m

@GrahamSpiers The SFA and UEFA position is that its the exact same football club. In your view is it the same football club or a new one?
