novosleftboot 6,285
That end has put England as definite favourites for the next series. Looked like Australia were going to take the momentum, but instead its swung right back!I wouldn't be so sure. England were far from impressive in this series, 3-0 flattering us hugely, and Australia in their own back yard will be a very different prospect.England were (arguably) lucky to win at Trent Bridge, were very much 2nd best at Old Trafford and were saved by the rain, should have lost at Durham as Oz were cruising (only the best spell of Broad's series inspiring an unexpected collapse)Also, people slate the umpires for bringing off the players with so few runs required at The Oval, denying England a 4-0 win, but they forget that Australia had declared twice, trying to force a result. It was only at Lords that England were dominant from start to finish.I think the series down under is going to be a very tough one. Australia will win at the WACA, with Mitchell Johnson running through the England batsmen. It's what happens in the other 4 tests which will decide the series. General Smiley 494
Simply unplayable when he gets it right, there.Well hold on. Let's look at the last 5 WACA Tests.South Africa 2008: 61/8 and 98/3. South Africa won by 6 wicketsWest Indies 2009: 92/2 (at over 5/over) and 67/3(at over 4). Aus won by 35 runsThe third Ashes Test in 2010/11: 38/6 and 44/3. Aus won by 267 runsIndia 2012: Mitch didn't playSouth Africa 2012: 54/2 and 110/4 (at 4.4/over). South Africa won by 309 runsSo, yes - 61/8 (although Aus lost the match), and the Ashes Test were outstanding. But he gets it wrong as often if not more often as right. We can hope he has an off-five-days.
Creampuff 22,628
Even the poorer figures there are cracking.Don't see why anyone would slate his record at the WACA.. novosleftboot
novosleftboot 6,285
So he's taken 31wickets for 564 runs. That's an average of dismissing an entire test side for 182! And these are bad figures?!
Creampuff 22,628
Anyway, like him or hate him, and his general stats aside, Mitch at the WACA is unplayable. He also has a very similar test average to Stuart Broad when it comes to wicket taking. One bad series and people write him off .

General Smiley 494
Clint McKay Trott dismissal was unbelievably bad. Trott should surely have been rested along with Cook and the others - he was the second best batsman in 10/11 IMO and clearly needs to work on his technique, this ODI series can't be doing him much good.KP also should have done better. Can't really complain about Root. Huge pressure, pretty much digging out a yorker.
Creampuff 22,628
I think the Trott dismissal was a total misbowl from McKay .He didn't look comfortable and I don't think that's what he was going for.Still, they all count.A triple-wicket maiden is a cracking third over in an ODI . General Smiley 494
Really like the look of Stokes, but definitely more of a fourth seamer than third. Would have liked to see him in the final test rather than Woakes.

Mitchellenman 20
I like Durham because I live here Wish it had rained all day yesterday, I'm off today, was hoping to see the win. Very satisfying seeing as though everyone predicted they'd be relegated
