AlBear. 8,499
SAT SEPTEMBER 28TH - STENHOUSEMUIR (H)SUN OCTOBER 6TH - AYR UNITED (A)SAT OCTOBER 12TH - DUNFERMLINE (H)League Table:http://www.rangers.c...ch/league-tableHopefully, in these next few games we will see the new signings start to bed into the squad and get back to producing the better standard and style of football we are expecting. Playing the teams currently 2nd, 3rd and 4th in the next two weeks should be a good marker for how our season will progress. Maintain our current 100% record and we will be well in front already at just the start of October. However if we do struggle it could start to have a psychological affect on the players going through the season.I think it's fair to say though that even if we do struggle through these games we should still be able to maintain our 100% record over this period. We have yet to concede a goal away from home. We are scoring regularly and more often than not early in games. While some of the new signings are still lacking a bit of match sharpness they will only get better as they play more games. Also as the new players integrate with the established members of the squad we will see the team get a lot more fluent. We have better quality players from last season, and more competition for places than last season. These two factors alone should see us not fall into the same mistakes and errors we saw from the squad last season. Certainly plenty to be cheery about, despite the recent lull in performances as the new signings continue to integrate and build match sharpness. But, imo, these next 3 games can be seen as very important to ensuring we maintain the steady progression from last season and march on towards our second league title in a row. 1st_Jan_1994 4,868
I fully expect 9 points as a minimum and some better performances from the players aswell as a change to some hidious decisions like Smith left midfield and Daly upfront himself. While the rest of the squad transitioned from preseason into the competitive games most of the new signings had to sit back and wait for a month making do with bounce games and double training sessions. Just a thought I had but I think Ally might be giving these guys gametime now to build them up to a similar level as the rest of the squad. As for one up top we really don't play that way. If we do go one main striker we usually have a guy in the hole supporting him or two wide players doing the same job so, imo, we rarely are just playing with 1 up top. But, I agree that I think Daly is more threatening when partnered with another out and out CF.

If the minimum is 9 points and 3 good performances then I can only assume anything short of a 100% league season will also be unacceptable? Dutchy 1,200
Ian Black will be back so I reckon that will ease the pain of our performances from now on. All games are important especially as we're looking for 100% record this year. Don't scoff, it's doable and what a better time to do it than in these lower leagues. I just think 6 games into the league isn't really the time to be making such things the "minimum" expectation. Get to Christmas and if we still have a 100% record we can start demanding those high standards are maintained.I just thought these next 3 games would tell a story maybe of what we could expect for the season. Play well and maintain our 100% over the next 2 weeks and we will already be pulling away from the chasers in early October.

The eitth, ninth and tenth black are just as important as all the other balls. I'm just pointing out it's still on and as we're going to win this league, why not go something spectacular, like 100%. It further defines us a Rangers, world record holders of winning competitions.
gmcf 35,487
Why should we struggle ? We're talking Stenhousemuir, Ayr United and Dunfermline. Two games at home and as good as a full squad to pick from.
Bootlaces 38
I really hope Smith or Foster don't make a return. I'd prefer McAusland at RB and see either McKay or Aired on the wing. This two left back nonsense has to stop.

As Morton showed and we experienced last year, it is easy for teams to sit back and defend.

I don't buy into this playing players in their proper position malarkey as I think team shape is more important than the players. Also it's the forces on sat so I always look forward to that !
