Hearts FC memorial

Just noticed that Flats of Midlothian have erected a bronze plaque honouring all the first team players who perished in WW1 . Nothing wrong with that of course.

However that's not my point. What happens when their pathetic CVA (yep even worse than ours) gets rejected and liquidation follows? Have you lost your history Jambos? Does that mean you cannot connect with this bronze plaque after the inevitable?

Of course it doesn't. So why don't you lot at least smell the coffee?

Ridiculous comment and very disrespectful to those who gave their lives - especially when, on this weekend, we are attempting to respect our service personnel

History can NEVER be erased but if a club is liquidated there can be no future accomplishments to add to the previous history.

Hope this is a short-lived thread.

Firstly, I was NOT disrespectful to the military. My OP stated "nothing wrong with that" my point is that other forum members have been on Hearts fans forum and pasted comments about us losing our history. So with that in mind and learning today that they have mounted a memorial ( and I'll state again ) there is absolutely nothing wrong with that. However if they get liquidated, and as they claim, we lost our history, then are they entitled to honour players of a team that's dead.

Secondly, can ZyOU explain your second paragraph - the man with so few posts?

I agree with the bit in bold.

Our club was never liquidated though. Our cub was sold from one company to another as a continuing economic entity prior to the original company being liquidated.

There is a difference in the circumstances between clubs like ourself and Leeds, and the clubs like Airdrie.

So your saying the next time win the League won't be our 55th?

Don't even think if a club is liquidated they lose history in the eyes of the sfa.

Hibs were liquidated in 1891 and stopped playing for almost 2 years but still claim cups won before that time. Hibs also liquidated their parent company in 1991 (Forth Investments plc).

Aridrie were different in that they bought another club and stole it's registartion.

Well done Hearts on mounting the memorial plaque.. Good to see them acting on the upright, now that Romanov is gone.

Hopefully their fans can follow suit....

Totally agree, perhaps they can follow our lead and host an armed forces day. Personally I feel that all SPFL clubs should be obligated to host such events along with a fit and proper commemoration on the nearest available day to Armistice Sunday. A failure to do so should be deemed as bringing the game into disrepute and should be punished with a 20pt deduction and a fine. Likewise any club whose fans are caught glorifying any terrorist group should receive the same punishment. If found guilty both punishments should be applied 40pt deduction and two fines.

This is my honest belief and not a point scoring exercise, I see it as more of an exercise in social responsibility by all clubs. In fact I would suggest that it should be introduced by the country's rugby clubs as well.
