He was a bit injury prone before Pep came on the scene and they sorted out his diet, fitness and work rate on the field to deal with the injuries.

However over the last year I've noticed Messi doesn't run about as much as the previous years under Pep and is far more static at times, whilst not dribbling as often as he did. Suddenly his injuries are cropping up again, maybe just a coincidence, I don't know!

His less dribbling just comes from him playing through the midde instead of on the right wing. Far easier to go by players on a wing where there's a lot of space.

Basically he's less entertaining than he used to be but far more effective. I do feel in the bigger games where he doesn't get as much space, out wide would be his best position so he can still infuence the game a lot.
