Time To Hang Up The Blazering Saddles

Well the accounts are out and the world is still standing.

Ok, they are not fantastic reading but they clearly do not show the financial Armageddon the naysayers were predicting.

There are positives that can be taken from the figures and Rangers appear to be in decent financial condition. Arguably much trimming of costs could still be done and the wage structure altered.

The general consensus so far among sensible fans is one of relief that accounts are published and that the scare stories are bunkum. There also seems to be a growing voice asking for the Minico coup to back down and give the board further time.

It would be no surprise if this fell on deaf ears, however.

I am told I created a stushie by suggesting that Scott Murdoch, one of the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse proposed by Minico, is being brought in to implement a sale and leaseback of Ibrox and Auchenhowie.

What people need to understand is that I hope I am wrong with this. Mr Murdoch, I am told, previously pitched this idea to Rangers directors not so long ago.

If Scott Murdoch has no intention of pursuing this line of financing, now is the perfect time for himself and the Minico camp to give CAST IRON GUARANTEES to the Rangers support that it will NEVER be on the table.

If this happens, I will be delighted and it gives Rangers supporters a chance to hold Minico to account.

Just in case there is any doubt, I would oppose the present board if they planned to go down this route.

It is a great opportunity for Rangers fans to make this a non-issue, regardless of who is in charge at Ibrox.

The date for the AGM has now been announced – October 24th. With accounts in line with projections, money in the bank, no debt, strong income streams and robust sponsorship, Rangers look not bad for the future.

Perhaps it is time for the four horsemen to hang up their saddles.

There is no apocalypse to speak of down Edmiston Drive.

Let's be honest. Anyone carrying on trying to destabilise the club is nothing more than an enemy of The Rangers and should be treated accordingly.

It is time for Paul Murray to go an concentrate on acquiring clients for his video business and, if he wants, to buy a season book and watch The Rangers.

Who is Bill McMental to oppose anything? Does he think the board would ask his permission? He sells God for money, how much lower can anyone get?

Don`t you know that God want`s you rich? Just pay Bill and he`ll tell ya how!

hallelujah!
