AlBear. 8,499
Everytime I make it up to a game I always stop in the Megastore and make a purchase, it's a wee ritual for me really but contributing to the club and success of brand Rangers makes me happy too.Anyway this means I've ended up collecting a few books the last 18 months that I'm working my way through;Rangers - The Official Illustrated History(2012),WALTER - The Illustrated Story of a Rangers Legend,Simp-Lee The Best,Follow We Will. The other day I randomly came across a selection of my dads Rangers books stored away that I'm looking forward to reading through;True Blue - The Davie Cooper Story,Rangers - My Team,Rangers in Europe - A 35 year histroy of Rangers in every European competition,Rebirth of the Blues - A story of a Rangers revolution,Rangers The Official Illustrated History(1989).Thought I'd make this thread to see if there was anyone on here who, could read firstly, was interested and wanted to share their opinions on any Rangers books they've read or perhaps recommendations for others to try.Personally anyone who wants to relive the glory days of the nine in a row era and Walters impact on our club I'd recommend WALTER - The Illustrated Story of a Rangers Legend. I thoroughly enjoyed going over the memories I had of growing up through those times. Also looking forward to reading True Blue - The Davie Cooper Story, as I was too young at the time to understand the impact he had at our club.Thursday October 10th will see the release of a new Rangers book; Mr Struth - The Boss ( http://www.rangers.c...struth-the-boss )Drawing on family accounts and personal photographs, the book looks at Struth’s life from his early years in Edinburgh and Milnathort to his move to Glasgow. It explores his interests and achievements on the track as a professional athlete and the motivations that led him into football, firstly with Heart of Midlothian then Clyde and ultimately Rangers. The book reflects on the legacy of the Struth era and his influences that remain within Ibrox Stadium and in Rangers today. Enjoyed both. Will probably get McCulloch's at some point.I've really enjoyed Jigs book so far, a great insight into the man. I got to the chapter on administration and felt I needed a wee break before I tackled that.Reckon Novo's book would be good. I'll keep an eye out for that. the goal machine 7,997
Enjoyed Jig's but I didn't think the writing was the best. Really good insight into the club in the administration days and he does seem like a quality guy.

jcb 1,167
Not usually a fan of players autobiographies but enjoyed reading Gordon Smiths.Another good one is George Youngs "Talking football", although published in 1958 he discusses various topics still relevant today. From a European League to learning from the continentals to how football has to adapt to join the "Entertainment industry".Prefer the more historical books tbh, Rangers treble kings & David Masons book on all our managers being both very well written. Dutchy 1,200
I've read Souness' and Mark Hatley's. I've not read too many more as I don't think they're that well written. The first book I ever did read I can't remember it's name but it had John Greig on the front hoisting the CWC along with the other players, beard and all. I do have Gazza's lying around the house, so I'll get round to it some time, hopefully before he kills himself. I do have that book of stats, which isn't really a read, but a reference. RFC Eagle 4,888
Would recommend Harold Davis' Tougher than bullets. Some story of a remarkable man.
DarcheVinny 1,003
Leggo's recent two on Symon and Struth are excellent. Paul Smith's 'Rangers War Heroes' is excellent. Paul Smith also wrote Harold Davis' 'Tougher Than Bullets' which is probably the most amazing life story you'll ever read, as Eagle suggests above
