McCoist and his wages

McCoist was on more than Terry Butcher's budget at ICT. £800,000 is what Butcher has to spend to compete against Celtic, Hearts, Aberdeen and the rest. McCoist even taking a 50% cut isn't noble. We all love the guy but he aint worth that for where this team is playing.

Are we able as a club to afford what people keep taking out?

Even though he's still on a lot of money you've got to give the guy credit for taking a 50% wage cut

That's a massive gesture

I know he's made millions out Rangers but I've got to admit not many people including myself would forfeit 400 grand a year even if I was a millionaire

Just saying

And I'm a big McCoist critic when it comes to his management

I'm not an Ally critic in any way up till this central point. Rangers where we are now is not the same Rangers he started out with. The wages should reflect this. I have never said Ally shouldn't be our manager, even when we had those losses I supported him. But Rangers made Ally and Rangers will be here long after Ally has moved on.

How about a fair increase for each and every league he wins taking him back to whatever other SPFL managers are getting once he reaches the top

He is already being paid more than most spfl managers.

Ignoring that, why should any Rangers manager be paid the same as the rest of the spfl managers when the expectation, pressure and revenue at Rangers is at least 10 times higher than any of these other clubs?

What is the point of your thread when we already have an established thread on the managers wages, and his wage reduction?

The manager should not be the one to dictate his wages. People don't knock some of our players for being on 7/8 k a week, they blame the men in charge. Just because Ally is a Rangers man, doesn't mean he should work for as little as possible to "help the cause" and to drop his wages by half (if paper talk is true) is extremely noble.

thought he was on £825k ?

I'm not ally's biggest fan but i don't see how anyone can put a negative spin on him taking a 50% cut , after all he didn't have to take anything

The accounts where for 13 months mate and not 12 hence the confusion about his wage

I'm amazed he's still getting slaughtered for dropping 400 grand a year to help us out

You need to remember its ok saying 400 grand a year is still too much but you become accustomed to a certain life - he's got investments, properties, bills, overheads that are all relative to his luxurious lifestyle

Case in point Sneijder knocking back 150 grand a week from Man United two seasons ago - he was on 200 grand a week at Inter and the 50 grand loss per week for the duration of his contract would bankrupt him

In short whatever you think of him as a manager (and trust me I'm not a fan) you can't knock someone for dropping 50% of their wage and 400 grand a year

Oh they can, and they will.

Seems crazy but no this is the norm. Ally can, in some peoples eyes, do absolutely nothing right.
