Blue72 1,237
Ally McCoist confronted director about sacking plotAlly McCoist uncovered a bid to have him removed as Rangers manager - by confronting a director who had allegedly planned to have him sacked. The unnamed director is understood to have expressed a desire to unseat McCoist after Rangers lost to Forfar in the League Cup. Another director had told McCoist of a conversation in which the anonymous director had suggested the Rangers manager be sacked. The same director had earlier given McCoist personal assurances that calmness and stability were paramount in the wake of the Forfar defeat. McCoist is then said to have phoned the director in question, who denied any such conversation had taken place. (The Sun)More rubbish from the sun and the scotsman. I know we all expect to win every game with this squad but our neighbours showed against Morton that even with a team that can play some ok football against European giants Morton can give them a wee hiding. RM Monitor And Standards Officer 112,894
The game he should have went after but so far he's turned it right round thankfully! But I wouldn't think this would be that far off the mark tbh
EatDolphins 5,360
Who is the source of this information supposed to have been?
Bothwellbear 1,392
It doesnt make good reading but probably fairly accurate. Look at the meltdown this place had after that match.
Blue72 1,237
There's clearly someone leaking as has been discussed before. Regardless of whether people now accept ally as a talented manager or a man lacking, he's had a very good run. The difference this year seems to be belief above all else. I suspect that someone who is a supporter of ally has leaked this now, it's a good time to dispel ideas of his sacking seeing as he has just own manager of the month! EatDolphins 5,360
But who could have leaked it. You'd like to think that;A. Directors wouldn't be discussing board room business with the manager even if it is about him.B. That only the 3 people involved would know of this.C. Neither of these 3 people would run to the press with it.
RM Monitor And Standards Officer 112,894
The Sun has been the paper of choice with the Rangers boars, the record has been the paper of choice for Murray and co
Young Bob 1,360
I would imagine the Easdales and Mather wouldn't have an issue with McCoist being sacked no matter what Mather says in public. Not going to happen until the current issues are resolved though.

legalbeagle 3,734
To be honest, I just don't find this story to be anything more than a storm in a teacup.
californiadreamin52 339
Would seem typical of this board and how it conducts it's business
bigblueyonder 11,158
I'd be very surprised if there hasn't been discussions to sack Ally at various points... rightly or wrongly..

theiconicman 3,172
Who does it paint in a bad light? Who benefits from them looking bad?Two questions you should ask yourself every time you read a Rangers story.

Brian Fantana 28,894
don't think the board would be so stupid as to sack Ally. If they did that then they would have real problems.

Brian Fantana 28,894
What real problems?A lot of the fanbase would join the calls for the board to go and probably turn away from attending games. Regardless of what you think of Ally as a manager, he is the final symbol that we have a true Ranger looking out for the club inside Ibrox. If he was to go you would only be left with the suits upstairs, of which none can claim to love the club as Ally does. This is not to say that Ally is unsackable, but at this time the club needs stability and IMO Ally represents that. legalbeagle 3,734
What real problems?I think it would be spun into a rallying point to be honest. He is the most popular person in any of this saga, it would be daft for anyone to remove him under those circumstances. (By the way, I wouldn't remove him anyway)

superally07 387
Id be worried if the board didnt think about sacking him after that game.
