Young Mr McMurdo also receives a Legal Letter

Right Of Reply

As regular readers will know, I strongly oppose the “Requisition Party” in their attempts to bring boardroom change at Ibrox. Although I have been critical of Paul Murray and others, I would never knowingly or intentionally say something I knew to be untrue about them in order to make a point or make them look bad.

Recently I blogged that Scott Murdoch was being proposed by the Requisitioners to be appointed to the board with the purpose of implementing a sale and lease back of Ibrox Stadium and Auchenhowie. I also stated another proposed new board member – Alex Wilson – was being brought in to effect a staff cull at Ibrox.

I have received a legal letter informing me these statements are false. As a result I offered these gentlemen a right to reply on this blog and I am delighted to say this was accepted. This right of reply now follows:-

FROM PAUL MURRAY, MALCOLM MURRAY, SCOTT MURDOCH AND ALEX WILSON

“The suggestion that Scott Murdoch and Alex Wilson were being proposed to the Rangers Board in order that they would implement a sale and leaseback and a staff cull was entirely false and we welcome the opportunity of setting the record straight.

For the avoidance of doubt we have no intentions of selling Ibrox or Auchenhowie. Indeed we would be proposing that Ibrox is “ring-fenced” so that it is legally protected for future generations of fans.”

Nearly all bloggers on RFC matters have as much credibility these days as Bernard Madoff. Whether pro or anti whatever seems to be the fashion statement of the week.

Why make the point in the first place if you don't know the facts. It is easy to make rash claims on a blog and some may say it is being economical with the truth. If you don't have hard unequivocal facts , then STFU!

Put Leggo and Young Bill in a room together and throw away the key!

With Bill getting better information than the other bloggers who seemed to be more interested in spinning lies against our club it seemed to put a few noses out of joint.

Blogger wars.

.

But you could turn that round, he is giving false information and he goes ahead and Blogs it, needs to issue an apology makes him lose any credibility any of these bloggers have, much as I want information too much mud slinging going on

What a crock of shit, ring fence Ibrox in what way.. no lease ever ?, Auchenhowie for sale or not, no mention of no lease ever for either Ibrox or Auchenhowie, to lease to the football team does not require any sale it just requires an agreement take it or leave it on the team.

You stick to your guns young William until you get an unequivocal no lease ever for either Ibrox or Auchenhowie under any circumstances, include the ring fence complete with holes. (tu)

If the requisitioners are proposing to separate the ownership of Ibrox from the holding of the football club licence then that is utter madness. In many respects, the football club licence is even more valuable than Ibrox. We have played on several grounds since 1872 including a public park. Keeping the football club licence secure is the single most important thing.

They are grandstanding and haven't thought this through.

As one of the blogger community I realise why many Bears would view blogs with suspicion - rightly so.

"My source inside Ibrox tells me" is no better than what we get from the mainstream media. As you know I never use sources - there are plenty of issues and injustices already within the public domain for Rangers bloggers to concentrate on.

It should not be about the bloggers - it should be about the issues blogger flag up - I would say when the blogger becomes bigger than the issue they have raised then ultimately they have failed as a writer.

Comparable in possible structure to the fiasco that was Rangers Youth Development Limited, they must think peoples heids button up the back, obviously a few here do.

The right of reply raises more questions than it allegedly answers.
