SwallowsHisOwnSpunk 8,009
It's rare that footballers who are good leaders on the park turn into good football managers it's always the ones you don't expect.
there'sonlyoneamoruso 1,724
Not surprised. If you don't hit the ground running these days they won't give you much time. I hope he gets another chance somewhere else as I reckon he'll be a great manager some day.

elephants stoned 2,994
I think they had him aiming for promotion rightly or wrongly, and it's looking like a relegation battle instead.Aye but then why appoint a novice manager? Always the same a bright young manager gets a new job everybody says how excited they are and how refreshing it is then he loses a few games gets the boot and the club comes out with the "we need a man with more experience to get us up the table" crap but how do you get experience? By being given time and if they wanted that in the first place then get a experienced manager in to start with. Football pisses me off at times. TheBoyDave 123
That's a shame, perhaps Davie can cut his teeth in management at a lower level or be an assistant and learn the ropes a bit more.Just because you are not successful at one club does not mean you won't be with others. JamieD 20,078
It's rare that footballers who are good leaders on the park turn into good football managers it's always the ones you don't expect.I dunno, some of the most successful managers ever were captains of their club. Munoz, Bob Paisley, Cruyff, Beckenbauer, Capello, Guardiola. Many more, I woud imagine.
