Thermopylae 15,286
Think back it used to be Rush and Hughes, then we had Giggs, Saunders and Bellamy and now we have Bale and Ramsey ... even if you go way back there was John Toshack ... it must be something in the water? The Godfather 71,713
I wouldn't put Bellamy in that list but I get what you mean.
West_Side 1,571
I wouldn't really say Bale, Ramsey or Giggs were forwards to be honest. Certainly not Ramsey or Giggs anyway.

Thermopylae 15,286
A central defender who is a good passer of the ball could be considered an attacking player ... Terry Butcher before it all turned sour comes to mind

tannerall 25,935
John Charles, the greatest ever Welsh player, (he was the first British player to make his mark in Italy, something other great English and Scottish players failed to do in the 60s),was a great Centre Half, but was also a great Centre forward becoming top scorer in Serie A in his first season. That proves your point Thermo. Toshack was the only player I saw scoring a hat trick against Scotland. And though I hated Hughes, he was an effective player too.Joe Ledley and Adam Mathews are not forwards which also proves your point.

Thermopylae 15,286
Perhaps the big rugby culture in Wales means they grow up with a high scoring game in mind and that transfers itself onto the football pitch?

tannerall 25,935
Tom Jones another Welsh player who scored a lot. Charlotte Church was quite impressive up front as well.
