Ross County statement. RE: No minutes silence at yesterdays game.

Recommended Posts

Ross County Football Club would like to sincerely apologise for the lack of a minute's silence at their match on Saturday the 9th of November ahead of Remembrance Sunday.

As a Club we are both honoured and humbled by the sacrifice of the men and women who have given of themselves for the benefit of others in times of war and conflict, particularly throughout the past 99 years and even more so as we approach the centenary of the outbreak of the First World War.

The lack of a minute's silence was not an operational or policy decision but an error of omission arising from a failure to address changes in staff responsibilities, and the matter is being dealt with internally.

The Club will continue in its policy of marking the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month with a 2 minute silence as well supporting the Poppy Appeal by allocating Matchday Collections at the Stadium to support their work in assisting veterans and will of course ensure measures are taken to avoid any possible repetition of our error on Saturday the 9th.

Total lies, they took the coward's way out because we all know the embarrassment the republican supporters would've caused. Ross County should've been prepared for the minutes silence to show respect for the soldiers lost during wars and let the scum supporters show them up for what they are. First they ran riot in Amsterdam and

That's ok everyone makes mistakes.

I will look forward to both clubs making up for it in their next fixtures as a way of showing their support for the sacrifice of young men of all backgrounds and cultures that were sent to fight and die for politicians actions.

Every club and every nationality respected these brave, frightened, unfortunate , used and among all vital men that give so much. Apart from these two horrible clubs.

Hang your heads in shame. The many catholic Irish men(many who went to war for Irish independence) who died during these wars at least deserved a dignified silence. Not to be forgotten.

The poppy Scotland appeal video from the Inverness shopping centre the other day must have been seen by near everyone in the UK, Dingwalls about a half hour away, did everyone at the club forget remembrance Sunday? does nobody wear poppies in Dingwall? that might have been a memory jog, that's pretty unfortunate that not one soul in the club remembered this, that's a shocking statement, they must think we feckin zip up the back.

The British Legion would never be in contact with the club this week either, maybe they forgot as well.
