Creampuff 22,628
Australia this morning announced their squad for the First Test. No real surprises to anyone watching their one day series, but two compelling players to see how they get on.Chris RogersDavid WarnerShane WatsonMichael Clarke ©Steve SmithGeorge Bailey (Or James Faulkner)Brad Haddin (wk)Mitchell JohnsonPeter SiddleRyan HarrisNathan LyonI'm presuming that Bailey will play the first test ahead of Faulkner. However, Watson is carrying an injury and the suggestions being made is that he may not bowl. If that's the case then perhaps Faulkner will be picked to provide the fourth seamer.England seem to be struggling a little with a lack of preparation, and injury worries over KP and Matt Prior. Big suggestions that Bairstow will start the first test behind the stumps. ClydebankBearWATP
TEFTONG 60,076
Really looking forward to this Series. Hoping Carberry gets a place and ive always been a huge admirer of "Jimmy jimmy jimmy jimmy" Anderson. He always gives 100% and the quick Aussie wickets should be to his liking. Duncan 23
KP fit for final warm up game. Predictions for Ashes are 3-1 England
Creampuff 22,628
I'm going Australia 3-1.It'll all come down to Mitch, I think. If he clicks he adds another dimension to the batting attack and takes quick wickets, of he doesn't he'll spark a lower order collapse and be needlessly expensive. How crucial could his first ball be? TEFTONG 60,076
Im tipping the "Barmy Army" to be celebrating a close and hard fought 3-1 Series win. With one test drawn. 8 days to go.
hammer93 15,056
I'm going for a 2-2 draw, the 3-0 in the summer flattered England.

Fiogh 178
What odds are the draw? Think it'll be tight, Englands bowlers don't look all that capable at the minute.

wearethepeople1 3,897
Why is this ashes series so close to the last one? I always thought they were every 2 years
Creampuff 22,628
Why is this ashes series so close to the last one? I always thought they were every 2 yearsThe current gap meant that it was always in Australia directly before a Cricket World Cup. They're moving this one forward to change that then continuing with the old gaps.

ayro 2,986
Going 2 0 England, think the summer flattered England but this was out of complacency. The fast bouncy wickets will suit England as much as Aussies so no real home advantage

Mitchellenman 20
Bad form doesn't last forever, so I'm expecting a big series again for Cook and Trott.England won 3-0 last series with just one batsmen in form, I still think England will win, Australia's only joy coming in Perth once again
Creampuff 22,628
Nathan Lyon takes a couple of quick wickets with Pup watching in the stand. I'd imagine that would be enough to put to bed the suggestions that Clarke will play with four seamers in the first test.He may have been more tempted had Pattinson or Starc been fit, but I don't see Faulkner being picked ahead of Lyon as a bowler; regardless of what he brings with the bat. Creampuff 22,628
Ashton Agar falls just short of a century (again) in a Sheffield Shield match. I said it in the Summer and I'll say it again; he will reemerge as a batting all rounder, maybe even in this Ashes series.
Creampuff 22,628
Phil Hughes makes 204 in a Sheffield Shield match. Alex Doolan makes a century, Cameron White makes 83 and 61 before taking four wickets in a day with his part-time leggys. Where has Australia's depth in batting options come from? .
