Players refuse 15% wage cut?

Costly

Recommended Posts

I wouldn't be overly concerned. Either everyone bears the brunt or we get rid of the likes of Simonsen, Foster etc.

A trimmed back squa. Could stI'll walk this league and more than likely the Championship. We're 18 months too late with this.

So the board got voted back in overwhelmingly at the AGM yet we're heading for admin? How is admin good for shareholders?

Obviously ots not. But dont tell me that admin hasnt crossed your mind here. If it hasnt then we have learnt nothing over the last 2 years.

Have the board offered to take a similar 15% pay cut?

What about the 5 Accountants we currently employ ??

Whay about the Media Consultant(s) we employ ???

Plenty of places to attached BEFORE we even touch the squad, however, this has all the feeling of "been here before" all over it.

Those who believe we aren't in SERIOUS trouble .... get your head out your arses !!

We'll be in serious trouble if cuts aren't made and Wallace is trying to do that now.

What's the problem?

Holy fuck.

We want to save money, let's ask the players to take a cut as that would save money. Players said no, well it was worth a try.

Guy is here to save money and this is an easy option to try.

It's the obvious place to start after getting McCoist's wages down closer to a realistic level. Where Wallace goes from here is anyone's guess since player wages tend to be the biggest part of any clubs outgoings. Making substantial savings, to the level needed, elsewhere at the club will be much more difficult. We need the players to see a bit of sense here or hope we can punt a couple for decent money.

The fact that we're in a position where this is a solution to our problems is absolutely disgraceful. New investment now please.

Problem is that PR like this does not do much to encourage potential investors!

If things do take a turn for the worse, at least we have someone like King in the background who may do a deal to take control.

Crosses my mind because it keeps getting mentioned by anti-board campaigns etc.

It's vastly different to two years ago, even in the simple fact we don't have any debt or HMRC chasing us for millions. Nothing's impossible but i'd be incredibly surprised.

What a fucking embarrassment we are

We should be well on the road to recovery and gathering pace for the SPL return on and off the park

Yet 2 years on and we asking players to take pay cuts

We need to face reality

We have been taken for a ride in recent times and no one is interested in buying the club for the right reasons

Bleak

The problem is that this move looks desperate.

It looks like its a case of 'take a 15% cut or we are going to admin'!

We should not be asking our players to take a cut, its just not done. We should sell players or release players with a pay off to reduce overall cost, but no financially stable business especially a football club asks their staff to do this unless they are desperate!

Well said, Ace. Unless I've missed it, 104 posts in and you're the first to bring this up.

Let's see the 'democratically elected' Board lead by example.

shameful,we brought 22 million in and also sold 36 thousand season tickets,we have a wage bill that sits at 37 percent of the clubs turnover, were the fuck has the money went because it certainly has not went on players

Absolutely criminal mismanagement and the fact that Stockbridge is still there is astounding..

Anyone who thinks we are not on the brink has their head firmly in the sand.
