Ally: I side with my Players

Wasn't attempt at putting the guy down at all mate. All I'm trying to get across is I feel like Im being played and to make matters worse its not coming from a corporate suit, its coming from a man who I've idolized since I was 6 years old.

I know but nice to see him being put firmly in his place. And yes he is playing the fans. He is as much to blame for our troubles as the money men.

He chose a policy of recruiting over paid mercenaries which he knew would cost the club millions of pounds.

All this crap about he doesnt prepare the budgets and he doesnt set a players wage doesn't wash with me either.

The manager has an input and he also decides which players to go for. Green didn't choose Black or Cribari or Argyriou or Sandaza or Kyle.

He's not solely to blame but neither is he blameless.

Was at the home game and we drew 1-1 (Dalziel) and decided to avoid the away game.

At least when Cologne battered us 5-0 we knew they were decent but Chesterfield :power_of_anguish:

Hated the home game as well...........Gaw Dalziel scored!(Played at every level with him growing up so when the Gers watched him, they saw me!).Our scouts have never recognised the better player, lol!

Agree with Ally about the players. They signed the contracts in good faith and shouldn't be forced into taking cuts.

From reading Wallace's Q & A it doesn't seem as if he was trying to force them. Just putting the feelers out to see if it would be an option is the impression he gives.

Ally saying he has his own ideas who is responsible but would rather not say is pretty poor though. Why even say that? It's jus generating more hysteria.

Who is it he blames? Is he having a go at Green?

Was it not Mathers who sanctioned all the latest signings in the summer and Ally who wanted to bring all these players in?

Still love his celebrations in front of the jungle in a 3-3 game around 81.

A proper GIRUY moment or two.

Ready for first team football? I must be confused, does being on the bench mean you have to be used as sub? When did that rule come into place?

Anyway, like I said: Ally thinks he's cute. Not gonna fly with me. He has enough players to win this division and the next reasonably comfortably.

PS. I named my youngest after my personal hero, Ally McCoist, I have no desire to look for reason to batter the guy over the head with. I wont however be played for a fool. End of discussion mate.

Possibly the greatest reply ever posted on RM. Magnifique!

A fair chunk of those are 16 or under.

Josh Jeffries plays for the u15's.

So you think the likes of Advocaat and Le Guen would do what Ally did? Have a word with yourself, mate.

Ally is still, by far, the only one in the corridors of power at Ibrox Stadium that has earned trust... he did that long ago. And his actions over the past 24 months have only re-affirmed the trust. For me anyway.

So you think we should ditch McCoist and bring in, say Neil Warnock?

They may have to, after his latest sit on the fence statement.

One glance at the League table would validate those expectations.

Yes we're strolling away with the league and so we should be given respective turnover/resources.

QOTS won this league with a playing budget of £250k.

Shouldn't be spending this much to achieve the same imo.

Yep, they're now 3rd bottom in the Championship.

Fuck sake Ally, why didn't you follow the QOTS model?

They are pro youths and are available for selection. There is no other logical reason to have a bench a player short, than to kid less informed people on that we need more players.

I'd rather they were playing for the youths than sitting on the bench.

Anyway, it's a common tactic used by managers who feel - rightly or wrongly - that they want more tools to do their job. Paul Ince did it with Blackpool the other week.

What it has to do with our financial position and his comments in the OP is beyond me.
