Release clauses

They should be added into all contacts to stop clubs offering peanuts, just because the level or nation we play in.

Depending on how important that player is to the club we set a release clause of 10million.

Players that don't demand so much money 6million.

Any player that has under 3year deal we set there clause at4million.

That way every team knows the price match it or bolt. No-negotiations.

If players won't sign up to such a deal in there contract do we really want them at the club?

Happens in Spain but tbh if a player has a 10 million release clause and he's shite the teams normally accept the lesser offer. This only really protects big name stars

If the club shows some respect for Rangers n our players then we could maybe do a cut price deal..Meeting in middle ground. Its all well n good saying a club will determine how much someone is worth..They will know that a pitiful bid will be kicked out.

If they are set too high then young foreigners or even good foreigners coming in and looking to move to the EPL will just reject the deal

That's the risk we take.. Good players joining us will get paid well.. When It comes to selling..I think its only right we try n get back what we have paid out over his contact length(including transfer fee).

Risky tactic mate n we might end up with some guff. A good scouting network would hopefully limit that.

This wouldn't stop us receiving low bids, or clubs trying to unsettle our players. It would mean that we could actually lose a player if they improved substantially in conjunction with our rise. Release clauses are not good for the 'selling' club.

That's what I'm saying. Is it not just a player's agent saying "he's not worth £10m yet, but if anyone offers that in the future you have to sell him"? Don't see what the club has to gain?

we should always be at least looking to reclaim what we have spent on a player. in wallace's case he has also been our best player for the last 2 seasons so to accept a loss on him regardless of what league we are in would just be bad business and also very shortsighted.

Give over.

Rangers have been doing the same to other clubs for decades now, offering peanuts for their best players.

We done the same to Hearts for Wallace because they were in the shit remember.

Hearts took 100k off the price because we payed them the money back early.

So you would put everyone on long term contracts ? MKes it difficult to get rid if unwanted players .

Also release clauses are not min fees - you can hVe a release of £10 m which is an automatic trigger but a fee could still be negotiated at say £2m

Contracts are not that simple long contracts big playoffs if player fails but bug fees if potential to sell

Pointless, they have them in Spain as it's in the rules laid out by their FA, hence the reason the likes of Messi and Ronaldo have unthinkable release clauses - to ensure that they do not lose them as people are unlikely to meet their price.

However this would not protect us against low bids - for example say Walkace had a release clause of £5m - teams like Forrest would still not offer anything close to that valuation, we would realistically only get the £5m if he was romping it in Europe and at that point the rease clause would become a negative as it would limit the amount we would get.
