RangersMedia Sponsors’ Fund – Supporting Combat Stress

Last Night at Ibrox (Rangers v Dunfermline, Scottish Cup, 4-0), I had the pleasure of meeting 4 Patients from Hollybush House (the Combat Stress Treatment Centre in Ayrshire) and giving them each a ticket for the game, a programme, a Dado Prso DVD and a few quid for a ‘Pie and Bovril’) courtesy of the Sponsors' Fund. (tu)

The guys were absolutely delighted and couldn't thank us enough, and have asked me to pass on their thanks to all our members. (tu)

And luckily the team gave a performance that undoubtedly gave the guys (and the rest of us!) some good stress-relieving therapy - so mission accomplished! (tu)

Hopefully we should have enough money left to do the same again for the next Ibrox cup game. (tu)

If you would like to know more about Combat Stress...

Combat Stress is the UK's leading charity that specialises in the treatment and support of British Armed Forces Veterans who have mental health problems.

Mental ill-health affects ex-Service men and women of all ages. Right now, we're supporting over 5,000 Veterans aged from 20 to 101. We're a vital lifeline for these men and women, and their families.

Our treatment and support services are always free of charge, and are proven to work.

Hollybush House is a short-stay residential Treatment Centre in Ayrshire. It has 25 beds and can accommodate a small number of accompanying carers.

A wee word of thanks from Combat Stress...

On behalf of Combat Stress and the veterans that went to the Rangers game on Friday night I would like to thank you for your kindness; providing tickets, programmes, a DVD and funds for the veterans to get a pie and drink. The veterans that were there thoroughly enjoyed themselves!

If nobody has any objections, I'm hoping we can do the same again for the Rangers v Albion cup game. (tu)

GB spoke to R and Dr John this am they told me the guys were so happy about how well they were treated by you and Eagle. As you know I'm lucky to be treated as an out patient but the guys being treated living in Hollybush need this kind of release and it wouldn't happen if we didn't have you and the fund. Can't thank you enough. WATP

I have been to Hollybush to present several cheques, its a superb charity, doing the work the fecking govt should be doing, if you need a donation or any help give me a shout, i cannot make the home game on 15th march, you can have my tickets for two residents to attend that game.

Please tell them the pleasure is all ours. (tu)

Who would have thought spending money on Rangers could be so rewarding?

Why don't we take them all to the game I'm sure we could get enough cash together to bring 25 of the troops to the Albion game.

I think that might be a bit too ambitious for now. more from a logistical standpoint than a financial one.

But I'm sure we could find another number somewhere between 4 and 25 - if we had a wee fundraiser of course. (tu)

That's a great gesture mate. (tu)

The problem is that the last time I went to the Ticket Office to collect paper copies of someone else's season tickets, the guy gave me the third degree. There is always that risk that the office won't issue the tickets.

But if you were able to get paper copies of your tickets before the game, and then pass them on to me, it could work.
