Scrappy first half: Ayr came out and tried to take the game to Rangers, while not showing any real tactics or skill they did keep rangers on their toes and there little time was allowed on the ball for anyone.

Rangers defence looked a bit frail in the first half

all up though a messy first half.

second half was a different kettle of fish and I did feel so long as Ayr didn't score in the first half that by the time the 2nd half came about they would run out of steam and their heads would start to drop. And so that seemed to be the case

Rangers came out and started the 2nd half like they ment business and the early goal was just rewards for their endeavours.

after that the result was never in doubt.
