Madjid Bougherra looks for Ibrox return

THE former Rangers centre back is out of contract at the end of the season and wants to finish his playing career in Govan.

Madjid Bougherra wants to return to Rangers

FORMER Rangers star Madjid Bougherra last night revealed he wants to end his career at Ibrox.

The 31-year-old Algerian defender will end his stint at Qatari club Lekhwiya before playing at the World Cup. He will then look for a new club.

Bougherra was a cult hero before leaving Rangers in 2011 after a three-year stint during which he won three titles, a Scottish Cup and a League Cup.

Bougherra said: “I have always said I want to finish my career in Glasgow with Rangers.

“The only question would be whether that is now or maybe in a few years.”

How much money he wants would be of more interest.

Can I see him going from 30,000 p/w to 5,000K?

Nope, considering we have to cut wages as it is and get rid of players to get costs down this just seems fantasy stuff.

He might come back for our top flight challenege though.

If he genuinely wants to come back, understands that we can't pay megabucks anymore and agrees a few grand a week (and thid is within our budget) then I don't see a problem. There are a lot of ifs in there.

Surely Bougie would have made a good packet out there, so maybe he will be willing to take a big pay cut?
