Ibrox Closed if No Albion Carpark

Recommended Posts

Latest pish doing the rounds.

Supposedly we would not be allowed to open up Ibrox if we were not able to open the Albion. Saying on talksport that this was part of the deal required to build the club deck.

No idea if this was or was not part of the deal, but what I can absolutely guarantee is that any agreement like this would be torn up and we would get approval from the council to open our stadium as per usual.

No matter how against us we think the council may be, they would not do anything that would turn half the city against them like this.

There is zero chance this would ever come about.

To be fair, the agreement is inplace according to this article from way back :-

"However, the club claims the move is the only way to guarantee the future operation of its #22m club deck stand, building permission for which was given by Glasgow District Council only on condition that a minimum amount of car parking space was made available at the former Albion training ground."

Although I think it is only the club deck they talk about, not the whole stadium. Would still never happen, council will tear it up.

The claims at the time were that in order to have the Club Deck built, using his steel as it happens (love to see those tenders) the Edinburgh shyster had to agree to provide additional off-road parking facilities as this extra stand created an increased stadium capacity. The Glasgow City Celtic Supporters Group (Glasgow Labour) made the Albion car park a prerequisite for the plans being approved.

No such deal was put in place when Beggar FC (Jimmy Savile section) built their LEGOLAND structure.

Strange that, eh?

So laxey partners/Easdales super duper master plan is to loan Rangers £1.5m knowing that the club will become insolvent in a few weeks meaning they lose about 95% of that money in a potential pence in the pound cva. Then they will block the opening of the Albion meaning all the millions they've spent in shares in the company will be lost just to get a car park that's only real value is to Rangers football club??? Wow Dr evil style planning from these guys....

No they won't. CFC will buy the land at a knockdown 5 shillings and a hapenny , with future development earmarked for a council sponsored red light area

could we not just shut the club deck, or would that be too simplistic

I might have picked it up wrong to be fair. They might have said force Ibrox's club deck to be shut or something.

If that is the case, my apologies. Its still a pile of shite though, would never be enforced, especially if someone was trying to blackmail us with it.

What is even more important to point out, is that even if someone has security over a property, it does not mean the property itself defaults to them, only the proceeds of the sale from it, up until the value of what they are due.

And any surplus due to the party who pledged the security.

Knowing our luck, there'll be an effing great termination fee!

Could we not just vacate G51? Tell GCC we are away tae feck! Find another location eg. South Lanarkshire , Larkhall. I live in Glesga and pissed off at their obvious agenda!
