Watching some of the tackles the ref let the airdrie players get away with last night got me thinking about how often this has happened over the past two seasons.I know some of them are incompetent and shoudnt be near a pitch but i think some of them look at it and think ;Dont wanna be booking to many of the wee par timers in case i have to send one of them off and it gives the big bad full time rangers even more of an advantage.;just wondering any body else thought the same.

Most of the refs are in these divisions for a reason; they are not outstanding officials.

It's a huge step up working in small stadia with a few hundred supporters to turning up at ibrox in front of 40,000 passionate Bears questioning your every decision.

Very few of them have managed to make the transition successfully imo. Hardly surprisingly.

Still hugely frustrating for us supporters mind.

No different from the spfl, very poor standard all round. The decline started when Uefa reduced the age a referee could ref a game. This caused to many who were average at best to retire.

Would not wish the job on anyone, today's football there is 22 cheats on the park.

Copland bear. It is the SPFL referees we are talking about. Just the ones in the lower divisions. My personal opinion is that the are overcompensating against accusations of being "pro-Rangers" rather than them being "anti-Rangers". And yes, it is their level of competence which consigns them to the lower divisions.

Rangers, my team not my project.
