Behind closed doors

Dundee Courier this afternoon

Dundee United and the SFA have attempted to cool the Ibrox row by agreeing to deal with the matter in private.

A war of words had erupted betweeen the two parties over the Tangerines’ potential ticket allocation for the April 12 William Hill Scottish Cup semi-final at the home of opponents Rangers.

United were — and remain — furious over the tone and content of the governing body’s statement addressing the allocation issue.

They also would still like the tie moved to a neutral venue.

However, the morning after the night before saw United and the SFA agree on at least one thing.

The short statement from the Tannadice club read: “Regarding the William Hill Scottish Cup semi final ticketing and venue issue, the club today held constructive discussions with senior officials from the Scottish FA and both parties have agreed to conduct future consideration on this matter in private.”

they wont sell there 13k allocation no matter what stadium they play it in,they should have raised there concerns well before now that both semis are being played at our ground but they didnt.

they wont say it but with us getting more seats to sell then that puts more blue pounds in there pocket which when backs are turned we know thats what they want most.

lets hope we pump the fuckers rotten :5536:

or a "lets have a semi final at the piggery and if we win, then Ibrox can get the final - win - win"...

Sheepy and St Johnstone would be up in arms like Dundee Hibs but I could honestly see the Jap instructing the SFA to move our semi to the Piggery

Behind closed doors....who would have thought it, .....this sporting integrity thing, like it's near neighbour transparency, just don't seem to be very operable, especially when it concerns Rangers.

Thompson and the CSFA, hunkered down in private discussions...behind closed doors, how convenient, total embarrassment.

Maybe fitba is not for thompson.....it's like.... you've either got it, (a full head of hair) or you hav'nt got it, and in his case, he definately has'nt got it. Same applies to fitba. :7325:

Could his be the start of dissention within the ranks of the cabal? Always thought that while they knew the league title would be ring fenced for c****c, Aberdeen, DU and Hibs reckoned they would have a shot at getting the cups on at least two occasions in return. Only one problem with their carve up, we survived and are already challenging for the cups and are only just over a year from our return to the top tier effectively ending any chance they had for even a tainted success. These clubs will be keeping an eye on how things work out for c****c in regard of the state aid as they know that if that goes south then the next thing to be targeted will be their collusion to have us put out of the SPL and grab the prize money.
